<quoted text>You'd be wrong. There are many shades of folks in my extended family. Color doesn't scare me. People who think they are above our laws do. I have been working on my family tree, and have found out that many of my ancestors were here bfore the civil war. One part of the family was here in the early 1700's, much to my surprise, and actually lived about 100 miles from where I now reside. Most of the rest setled in the Midwest. Just two great grandparents came here through Ellis at the turn of the century. I noticed that they became naturalized in about ten years from their arrival. I am focused on all illegals. Let me ask you something, which group yells the loudest demanding that they be given the gift of citizenship and the ability to work the jobs they weren't supposed to have, while trampling over Americans? What gives them the idea that their needs are greater than that of an American?
Generally speaking, people that enter this country illegally have no rights. As I've stated in a previous post, Citizenship for those coming from another country is a priviledge, not a right.

They're different components to the illegal Mexicans risking life and limbs to come to this country. Poverty in their own country being the primary reason. That begs the question as to who's hiring them? Also, I'd be remiss not to mention that the lure of social services missing in their own country is also an allure but isn't it for all incoming immigrants? No, we're not obligated to accept them, nor is it their right. However, we did state, give us your tired, your poor and we'll give you rest, lol. Are we going to live up to that promise? Can we afford it? Are we going to apply our decisions to all incoming immigrants (legally or not?) fairly and not just single out Mexicans? They're not the only ones entering this nation illegally.

I am playing the Devil's advocate here now.

True but you've had some white ones ranting and raving and of course the new breed of white ranters on Faux and other conservative outlets. I think they're hurting whites in general and causing unnecessary division in this nation. It's unfair to decent, non-racist, whites to be tarred and feathered by the venom expressed by the likes of Brietback(sp), Coulters, Palins, Limbaughs, etc.

What say you about them, since you're so obsessed with Jesse? Yes, he may have been a poverty pimp but your current spokespersons are pimping for the right and racists too. You think they don't know hate sells? Some positively drool over their outrageous rethoric.

The reason for the poem being written was to raise money for the building of the base and is now engraved on a bronze plaque and contained inside of the Statue of Liberty. There are laws written for people to abide by, and its our right to see that they are enforced, not circumvented . As I have said before, I know that the Mexicans are not the only folks sneaking in, but we hacve the right to stop it and enforce the laws as they are written. I wonder how many would still sneak in if birthright citizenship were taken off the table. It would be interesting to see how that would change their family dynamics. Our local Catholic priest is trying his darndest to convince these folks that they should be married before having kids. He's fighting a losing battle.

By the way, the reason I mentioned what the lady said about Jackson was becaues I was clearly thrilled that there are those that get it about him. Yes, he is a relic from the past, who has done nothing to futher the cause for his people. Education, religion, and home-training go a long way in helping folks rise above their lives of poverty. Welfare is not enough, self-reliance and personal responsibility and work provide
so much more for one's well-being, both phsyically and mentally.

Did you know the original statue of Liberty was of a Black Slave? It was sent back to France and the features were recast into those of a white woman. That wasn't the intent of the man who created it. So just as the statue is in a sense a farce and hypocritical, is the inscription a farce too? You say to raise money but isn't that belittling what the intent of the words were? Surely it was meant to touch people's hearts and not just something to get money off of people. Come on now. Oh, I left out "hungry" which was in there too. In a sense, with those words, we invited the world's people. Of course, it goes without saying, that obviously it only meant certain people, right?

Again, I haven't disagreed with you entirely as noted by my previous posts, but I do want to make you aware of the hypocrisy and different realities. Maybe think outside the box?

True, does your message apply to whites receiving welfare and lack of religion, home training, etc.? There's more of them on welfare than blacks (dollar wise) not percentage as most racist who want to avoid that TRUTH are want to use when trying to ignore the fact that there are more whites on social service programs than blacks. The math prove it with only 13% of the population being black. It's impossible for blacks to be receiving all the "entitlement" programs, even if every black was receiving aid.

You're under the assumption that your words are needed for blacks but not your own kind and that makes you what? A racist or merely uninformed? You choose.

Once grown adults have decided that they're just not "into" work, it's hard to persuade them that it's a good thing.

If it's true that millions of Caucasian-Americans are lazy slackers gaming the system, then the appropriate course of action would be to reform the system as currently used by American citizens so that it is less game-able. Don't hammer away at hard-working, productive illegals whose behavior is otherwise respectful and responsible.

There are all sorts of things other than bashing illegals that we can do to make welfare abuse less attractive.

Dragged here but you were free to go in 1865. My point which I had thought I made clear is, if you have a problem with American history and what whites did, why are you trying to benefit from all that badness? Many of the people here are trying to grab the silverware and they think if they piss and moan about the Indians for a little, that absolves them from being accessories. Since you grabbed some of the silverware, you are now part of the crime.
.
Nothing is more amusing than an American Indian complaining about the past while they get in their car and scan their cell phone for messages. Nothing is more amusing than Sinajuavi going on about whites on a computer invented by whites. Seems the aggrieved state ends where convenience begins.
.
Maybe you need to thank General Custer, for he was part of the chain of events that has made modern life possible.
.
Oh, by the way, the only people who think life in the past was charming are the people who never lived in it. It was a dog eat dog world and if you think life in say, 1600 was great, if you need heart surgery, go see a witch doctor or medicine man to get a taste of it.
I have a problem with UNTRUTHS. I have a problem with HYPOCRISY. I have a problem with people ABSOLVING THEMSELVES WHILE DEMEANING OTHERS.

All races here shared in the creation and supremacy of this nation, NOT JUST WHITES, which is what you're subtly implying.

You all grabbed more than silverware and definitely more than your share of the Apple Pie!

As for my thoughts on American History, take it up with the Historians of American History (or rather, His Story, lol) if you have a problem with those who have shown the fallacy and creative imagination that elevates you all while demeaning others who had a share in the creation, that's not my problem.

Unforunately for you, I too am a product of the American belief system. Where do you think I got my information from, out of the air?

Trampling over Americans? How dare you malign immigrants who work far harder than you and are only looking to make a living.

You idiot, you are being trampled by corporations. They run things. They engineer the system. Part of the plan is to bust Unions so you Yanks can't earn a decent wage. They want you back in serfdom.

You'll be happy there as long as there are no Mexicans with you, right?

You have nothing but condemnation for Mexicans, for their culture, family values, etc. But let's take a look at your fellow white gringos, fool.

Drugs, rampant dysfunction, youth having babies and abandoning them, frustrated confused screwed-up people seeing the system pushing them back into feudalism but too lazy to try to understand it... no, we'll blame immigrants, and when that gets tired we'll talk about black people on welfare.

You're so thrilled to speak badly of Rev. Jackson, but nothing to say about his constant activism, bringing racism to the attention of the public.

I recall a UFW (Farmworkers Union) march in Watsonville CA, in 100 sun, and Jackson was there, a bit overweight, not so young any more, walking in that hot sun, along with everyone else. And what criticism can we have of that? He got no money. He has a history of showing up for the right causes.

I am more radical, more leftist than Jackson but I appreciate the work he's done.

Changing the rules now to suit racist feelings or fears isn't right and it's something whites do all the time when they want something!
The trend here in CA, up until people became outraged and started reporting them, are Chinese Maternity Hotels. It isn't just Hispanic women crossing the border to have their babies, now it is the trendy Chinese thing to do too......

Anybody who refuses to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. would be included. There are always going to be those who, through no fault of their own, need the help. Then there are thopse who need a hand up, but get to accustomed to being hand-fed. Free social services were never intended to be a way of life, just a stop gap until one got back on one's feet. Why has the use of these services gone up the the degree it has reached now. Are we making it too easy for folks to sit around and do nothing?

Just like Sharpton, eh? What have I done??????? I have tried to teach children that they can be anything they want to be, they alone have the will to change things in their life by getting an education and working to be independent and self-reliant. I have worked my tail off making these kids know that somebody cared and loved them. That's what I have done. I can share many succcess stories because these kids knew somebody was their to prop them up and beleive in them. Not all of them listened, but many have and made something of themselves and are good providers for their families. They are the masters of their future, not the plantation government. I am not a boy...get that in your thick head.
