Federal agents arrested 43 suspected illegal immigrants Sunday in a raid at a Waipahu apartment complex, immigration officials said yesterday.

Last month, I worked a flight from LAX to HNL with about 20 Mexican men that did not look like they were going on vacation. I found it strange and thought, are they going to work in Hawaii, and if so, do what? I wonder if the men caught were the ones on my flight.

B.S. don't blame "local employees" for this mess. Blame our State and Federal governments who make it too easy for the illegals to get jobs and benefits. Blame our government for imposing stifling regulations against businesses for making them pay high fees & taxes, and having to pay too much for unemployment, insurance and social security.

Put the most basic regulations on business (hiring, firing, scheduling for hours, and a one-time minimum pay for beginning workers for the first 3 months) but allow businesses to regulate themselves.

As for the illegals, our borders need to be secured, we need to keep track of those who stay in our Nation past their due date of their visas, and most of all we need to stop giving monetary benefits like unemployment, welfare, food assistance and allowing their children to attend our public schools.

Take away the incentives (i.e., "freebies" at taxpayer's expense) and you'd eliminate the lure for illegals to come here.

Yes,Overseas workers are cheap. Illegal ones aren't as they tax our social services and medical care. I take it that you have never been to an Hospital Emergency Room where there are a lot of Illegals in the areas population?

Yeah, let's just roundup all these illegales and deport them. Deport them all and watch our agricultural, manufacturing, construction and service industries collapse. Heck, we can even watch half our economy collapse and make the current recession seem like boom years.

Because I don't see any white people lining up to work these hard labor jobs that keep our nation running.

Our nation needs to encourage the arrival of low-cost workers who will keep our industries running. The true fact of the matter regarding "illegal immigration" isn't the legal status, it's the fact that these immigrants aren't white and the shrinking white minority in this country is scared that the Mexicans are taking back what was originally theirs to begin with.

Actually they're not completely to blame. They do come to our Nation to find better work opportunities and be able to support their families. Mexico has a dirty, corrupt government that isn't doing enough to allow opportunities to flourish there.

But as I said, as long as our government keeps giving the illegals incentives to cross the borders, they're going to keep coming over. Secure the border and end financial assistance and benefits and they'll stop coming. Or at the very least, reduce it greatly.

well we do have alot of people on welfare whom are able bodied.are these jobs too good for them.I remember friends working at dole pinaple fields picking fruit as a summer job.they had good work ethics and i wanted to be like them.I worked wendys,Burger king(two diff kocations),and I am proud of those days. The bottom ruing americans today are whiney and lazy.it's incredible.

More b.s. Maybe you don't see "white people" lining up to do these jobs because they're being handed out to the illegals so the businesses can save on their taxes and not pay benefits.

Many businesses, where the illegals have been raided and rounded up, have hired American workers... white, black, and brown. These are Americans who, supposedly, wouldn't do the work that only the illegals would do.

And as for your claim that the "real" reason that the illegals are being rounded up is because we are "scared" that these people are "taking back" what was once theirs, is typical liberal nonsense.

I have friends and associates who were from Latin America and who came to our Nation legally and who do not support illegal immigration.
