America should not become the pressure release valve for countries that are overpopulated, corrupt, or running out of natural resources. Miami is a good example. They are out of water and still the population grows. Say goodbye to the Everglades.
It is past time for the USA to be more selective in who can become a citizen. We simply do not have the room or resources anymore. Immigrants, at a minimum, should have an understanding of American history, document that they have the money and resources to support themselves, and speak English.(A common language unites Country and culture. No more multicultural balkanism!) America also needs to stop citizenship based on anchor babies. It is not fair to those that actually think about how to support a new life before creating that new life
Having said that, America's immigration policy must also provide for those that are being persecuted by the next, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, well you get the idea. America can no longer harbor immigrants whose first act in becoming a citizen is to commit a crime. The end never justifies the means and illegals residing in this country offend the quiet majority of Americans who play by the rules and feel that they have been unfairly taken advantage of. Pro-illegal immigration supporters should not assume that this majority will stay silent and inactive forever.

People from Puerto Rico are not illegals.
Did you know that? Or don't you care? It must be hard to hate so many people. Why don't you take a rest for awhile? We all would benefit from it.
#3 Mar 29, 2009
well now! I read that twice and didn't see anything about puerto rico being mentioned. Perhaps your vision of always being the victim has been clouded by the shade of untruth. Illegal is illegal so deport those that are.
#6 Mar 29, 2009
Speak for yourself.
I know of NO "benefit" we get from lawless Puerto Ricans.
#7 Mar 29, 2009
Yes we should pass a law saying you can chose which laws you want to follow. Then of course if you chose not to follow that law, then you have to follow all the laws. Which means you have to follow the law you ignored that let you not follow the law which made you not follow the law allowing you to not follow the law you wanted to follow which, of course, means you than have to follow a law to not followlawsyouchosesnottofollow .
Glad we got that straight!

I wonder how many anti-ILLEGAL immigration supporters would turn out if one was organized. HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS. Its no accident that when these rallies occur the word ILLEGAL immigrants dissappears from the debate. They appeal to GOD? WE are not een aloowed to MENTION the word God in public discourse. NOW demanding that our political Representaives enforce our Laws, it is an offense against GOD? What hypocrites these scammers are. What willing accomplices this newspaper company is. Its no wonder they are in Bankruptcy. They are just propagandists, not Journalists. The only thing these Immigrants are is ILLEGAL.

There were no Puerto Ricans involved in this discussion until YOU put them there. They are American Citizens by birth, and NO one but YOU says otherwise.
#12 Mar 29, 2009
Until they DO change the law, it is a crime to enter, or to be in this Country without permission and documents of legal entry. No one has claimed you are not within your rights to proptest. Your attempt to liken this to Colonial Revolutionaries, and to slavery and segregation is a typical strategy called Moral Realtivity. Its like when someone says you are : a Lying, Steaing, Cheating, Corrupt, Drunken, Drug Addict, Check Bouncing, Wife Abusing, Child Molesting Criminal. Your reply is that the charges are false because you DIDN'T Bounce a Check.

Just because YOU deem a law "unjust" means that the OTHER 300 or so million people in the U.S. must also?
What arrogance - typical of the pro illegal alien agenda.
If it were put to a vote among the American people - illegal aliens wouldn't have a CHANCE - and you know it.
Latinos have drawn a line in the sand and I'm defending MY side of that line - the HISTORY and culture that MY ancestors fought for - not so that interlopers and newcomers may dictate to ME what is "right and wrong".
Latinos have a lot of gall to come to my country and tell me what is wrong with it.
Americans are sick and tired of being dictated to by 3rd world mentalities that have kept THEIR OWN countries in poverty and corruption.
They're bringing the same thing to MY country - and rally's like this only bring MORE Americans to our side in this fight.

We need to pass laws that put the employers of illegal immigrants in jail for very long terms. We need to also make it illegal for illegal immigrants to get welfare, free medical, free education.
No job, no money, no free medical, no free education, no illegal immigrants! They will go home and we will save billions in tax money and jobs will be available ti US citizens and those here legally.

Was this rally publicized by the American press (Orlando Sentinel)?
No. They OMITTED this story beforehand on PURPOSE.
They didn't WANT another 4500 or so people protesting like at the tea party.
The pro illegal alien anarchists are USING our media and they're masters at it.
The Orlando Sentinel is just another one of their dupes, who are lead around by the nose for fear of being labeled a "conservative" media outlet.
Get your illegal alien news from ALIPAC - they're not afraid of illegal alien anarchists.

There are millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S. because the federal government allows it. The federal government has the means to seal off the border with Mexico and prevent the steady flow of people streaming into the country. The fact is that the government ignores illegal immigration because big business in the U.S. is getting rich from this inexpensive workforce. You will not find U.S. companies lobbying against illegal immigration because they benefit tremendously from it and politicians benefit tremendously from U.S. companies.

Hopefully, you are calling your representatives and sending emails to let them know how you feel.
The pro illegal alien faction in our country organizes students to make those calls & emails in favor of illegal aliens.
We must ALL do our part to fight it for the sake of our grandkids and their future by countering those few who pretend that they're speaking for the rest of us.
#19 Mar 29, 2009
I agree. The Federal Government is helping to fracture our nation.
They (politicians) have created a great divide in this country and it will take decades to mend, short of a civil war.

No, uh uh. Does not compute.
Mexican workers were originally brought in to pick hand crops, and nobody had a problem with that because at the end of the season, they went home with money in their pockets and we paid $1 for a head of lettuce.
Then the housing boom needed cheap alternatives to union carpenters, plasterers, electricians and laborers. The Mexicans jumped forward and did the work. When hotels and tourism became a cash crop, they cleaned the rooms, did the laundry and cooked the food.
Again, nobody complained because the politicians were being paid off, there were plenty of jobs to go around and the border was still more or less open.
Then a few things happened: Mexico fell on hard times: a lot of surplus corn that used to go to Mexico went into ethanol instead, and...
The US housing boom finally hit high water and began to recede with jobs disappearing overnight. Tourism took a hit as well and Americans suddenly wanted to clean bathrooms to keep food on their tables.
And lastly, the US economy went for a bath and two groups floated to the top in time for the commentators to sell air time: the United Auto Workers and Illegal Immigrants. It was 90% bogus, made up, manufactured, but we wanted someone, anyone to blame for hard times and these groups were made for TV.
Blaming Mexicans for the scarcity of low-level jobs is like blaming AIG bonus recipients for the US economy. It looks good in a 15-second spot but it really is BS.

Not difficult - deport the illegal ones, make them follow the rules like everyone else. They think they are special just because they are creating babies? They don't have to follow the law so they change it to suit their needs?
The only reform we need is to send them back and make them come over here legally.
#26 Mar 29, 2009
First thing Obama should do is give all the illegals a dictionary and have them look up the word ILLEGAL.
#27 Mar 29, 2009
Speaking English at these immigrant events could help me as an American understand your cause - to support it or be against it. You are speaking in language that I do not understand. This is America!!!!!!!!! "English"
For now, I'm against your cause.
I will support President Obama and our Congress not to rush to address this immigration issue at this time.
We are in an economic, housing, and employment crisis. It must be the United States Government top priority.
Full immigration reform, not at this time.
TPS (Temporary Protected Status) consideration for most nations foreign nationals should be considered by President Obama on a case by case basis.
We applaud Congressman Luis Gutierrez for speaking part in English and Spanish.
I support local elected officials for not showing for this event. I was disappointed to hear the Congressman talk negative of other elected officials for not showing.

They pay a MINIMUM amount of taxes, for the APPEARANCE of legality.
They KNOW the IRS isn't cross-referencing them with DPS.
Don't act AS IF the miniscule amount of taxes they MIGHT pay, even comes CLOSE to the amount of BURDEN they place on our society.
Illegal aliens do NOTHING beneficial for our country.
There will be an attack against our country by radical Islamists who were smuggled here by Mexican traffickers - they're probably already here - thanks to the millions of illegal aliens who paved the way for them.
Illegal immigration is eroding our nation - one by one illegal alien.
#29 Mar 29, 2009
To "fix" a "broken" immigration system the law must be enforced and violators swiftly deported. The whole of earths population can't live here. Our resources are stretched as it is. Schools are overcrowded as are roads and citizens are being crushed by high taxes. No more .
