No, he has no "mandate". He barely won. He won with a smaller margin than he did the first time. Besides, democracy is not kleptocracy. You don't just get together, win a few elections and then vote to steal people's stuff.<quoted text>Must I point out to you that candidates for office have policies and plans? Do you understand that the winner of an election has been provided a mandate by the voters to pursue the direction he/she laid out in advance of winning election? If we have no choice, why would we have two parties and more as well as options as to direction. If there is only one "right" and everything else is "wrong", why not just live under a dictatorship or a monarchy?
What's with the garbage about popularity and rock stars? This is about an election, a choice of directions, and the decision as to which path to pursue based on the wills of the majority of voters who posted a win for the President.
He needs to be meeting with Congress and working out a deal, just like every other President in history has, including those who actually won over-whelming victories so they could plausibly claim a "mandate".
You do realize that "mandate" is a concept, not an actual legal position? There's absolutely NOTHING in the Constitution or any other law or regulation that says "once you achieve 'mandate' status, the executive may over-ride the legislature on each & every point".
So what you are REALLY claiming is that Obama is now a dictator empowered with special rights no other past President has ever had. Which is really laughable, but to be expected from a radical President and his fanatical proto-fascist followers.
Thanks for unwittingly comparing Obama to a dictator!
You obviously have no clue how a REPRESENTATIVE democracy works or why it was set up that way in the first place. The reason there is no such thing as a "mandate" in our laws is to PREVENT a dictatorship. Everyone has a say in what happens, including those who (for the moment) "lost".
It's NOT a winner take all deal. If it is, then we need to just have a civil war. Your side can fight for dictatorship by popular mandate, my side will fight for representative democracy in which everyone has some sort of say, even if a diminished one based on vote size. I don't think most people voted to make Obama dictator, so our ranks would swell as your dwindled.
Oppseee! Your far-left radicalism is showing!
