Didn't John Kerry try the same ploy when he was running for President?

When Johnny went a-huntin’

"In Ohio this week, John Kerry tried to stage something for the press to show that he’s not an anti-gun elitist who looks down his nose at the voting public. But the dog-and-pony show he put on in order to hunt geese in Ohio the other day largely served as another political opportunity for the Bush campaign and the National Rifle Association to remind gun owners that few senators have been as hostile to them as Mr. Kerry.

Mr. Kerry’s Ohio hunting adventure started last Saturday, when the senator, campaign entourage in tow, went into a grocery store and asked the owner:“Can I get me a hunting license here?” Even the phraseology sounded staged. Mr. Kerry ordinarily doesn’t talk this way, and his language sounded fake and patronizing — as if he was pretending to talk like someone from rural Ohio.

When Mr. Kerry went hunting on Thursday in Boardman, Ohio, the event was tightly choreographed. Even as Mr. Kerry allowed himself to be photographed wearing a camouflage jacket, he was “also careful not to scare off supporters who might be a little squeamish about seeing their candidate smeared with the fresh blood of a fowl whose only crime was to try landing in the wrong cornfield,” Charles Hurt of The Washington Times reported.

In my opinion if the Government makes e-verify mandatory for any job as well as enforcement of employers you will see an almost 100% illegals going for it, excluding any criminala that know they won't get it.

No illegal wants to be illegal, they would prefer to be able to live in accordance to the laws of the land.
is that why they break our immigration laws and steal Social Security numbers to work?

By the way isn't the Mexican government going to be stopping the illegals from coming over here now? Not sure just something I heard somewhere.
Why would the Mexican Government do that?

This has been going on for years, where have you been?

Source: Inter-American Development Bank, March 2006 report,“Remittance 2005”.

Mexico remains the largest recipient of remittances, at over US$20 billion, followed by Brazil and Columbia which for the first time reached over US$6 and US$4 billion respectively. Central America and the Dominican Republic combined to reach over US$11 billion; and the Andean countries totaled almost US$9 billion.

As much as 50% of remittances are unreported. As published in the Development Prospect Group Briefing #3, "This amount only reflects transfers through official channels. Econometric analysis suggests that unrecorded flows through informal channels may add 50 percent or more to recorded flows. Including these unrecorded flows, the true size of remittances, is larger than foreign direct investment flows and more than twice as large as official aid received by developing countries."

What Olivier is saying is that the business is doing fine, profits are increasing, and to increase those profits even more they're going to layoff some folks.

And rather than be blamed as greedy for the layoffs, they'll blame it on Obamacare. Corporations (and people) do this all the time.

The Affordable Care Act includes a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices, which is expected to raise nearly $30 billion over the next decade.

The tax is applied to gross sales revenues.

MyFoxMemphis.com reports that Smith & Nephew released a statement on the layoffs Thursday, explaining that they were necessary to absorb the costs associated with the tax, which "has impacted a number of companies across the U.S."

Hispanics, blacks, etc. put their heritage first because there are people like you whom they very well understand will never ever accept them--regardless of how successful they become--and as a result, do not want to assimilate entirely. They also recognize that they have a heritage and culture worth preserving. What folks like you are saying by asking them to assimilate is that their heritage and culture and language are not worth preserving.
The cause of their desire to not assimilate is the attitude of people like you. This is compounded by your failure to realize what the meaning of your desire for them to assimilate means.
You just don't get it and it's recognized that you have no plans to do so.

USDA combats ‘mountain pride,’ self-reliance to boost food stamp rolls One in seven Americans are on Food Stamps, but the government is pushing to enroll more — in many instances working to overcome Americans’“pride,” self-reliance or failure to see a need.

“Our common goal is to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,” the United States Department of Agriculture explains on its “Outreach Toolkits” page.“Our purpose is to ensure that those going through difficult times can feed their families healthy, nutritious food. By working as a team, we can accomplish these goals.”

The USDA has adopted a range of strategies and programs designed to bring more people to SNAP, including taking on “pride.” A 2011 Hunger Champions Award document reveals that local assistance offices have been rewarded for “counteracting” pride and pushing more people to sign up for benefits.
It seems to be working!

Reaching Low-Income Hispanics With Nutrition Assistance

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants
and Children (WIC) provides a combination of food assistance, nutrition education, and easier access to health care for pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to the age of five years. Eligible persons must be financially needy and at nutritional risk. WIC benefits usually take the form of vouchers or checks that may be redeemed
for specific food types. In FY 2006, USDA spent nearly $5.1 billion to serve about 8.2 million WIC participants.

Hispanics represent the largest racial/ethnic group in the WIC Program. In 2004, about 39 percent of those enrolled in WIC were of Hispanic origin. Approximately 3/4 of the Hispanic infants born in the United States participate in WIC.

Help me out here, folks. I am confused with some liberal thinking, on one side they think football is too dangerous, violent, whatever, and Obamam wouldn't want a son, if he had one, to play. Then, in another breath, we are now going to allow women to fight in the front lines...couldn', no, shouldn't we consider that to be dangerous and a violent circumstance for them? Why is one okay, and the other is not? Do these people even know what they really want??? Would Obama feel comfortable with his daughters going to war?

The increased unemployment is actually a GOOD sign. How that possible?

Economics 101.

Previously, lots of people were not in the labor force and simply stopped looking for work and they were no longer captured by unemployment numbers (accordingly, unemployment numbers can actually decrease during a recession), but as the economy improves, these individuals are now actively seeking work again and captured by unemployment data. Ergo, unemployment numbers can actually increase at the beginning of a economic recovery. This phenomena is covered in your typical intro to macro econ class.
Still doubt that the Republican party is the anti-education party?

It's so much more honorable to let one's family suffer from hunger and/or malnutrition and burden American taxpayers with paying for the increase in treating the medical expenses of such individuals than for such individuals to simply ask for some assistance.

And it's assistance that they've already paid for with their tax dollars. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
Makes you wonder why Obama wants to add 11 million illegal aliens to the mix!

WH Adviser Valerie Jarrett: Unemployment Checks Actually ‘Good For’ & ‘Stimulate’ Economy

Try to wrap your head around this one (which is actually an old argument) from White House adviser Valerie Jarrett: according to her, unemployment checks — in some round about way — are actually “good for” and “stimulate” the economy:

There's no question about the requirement that a person needs to have a functional command of the English language to become a citizen.

I've said that several times now.

AL originally said that an immigrant had to be able to speak English before they were allowed to come here in the first place and she was wrong.

She also seems to think that most people go to a technical college to learn English.

She was wrong about that too.
