Bravo.. Finally somebody doing their job.. I have to wonder just what entices a Mayor of 100's of thousands to go against THEIR wishes and give favor to 15,000 illegal aliens who commited the criminal act of illegal trespass over and agin to get from South America to Connecticut..
What intices A married with children ?New Haven "Mayor" to go against the will of so many others..

Good for ICE! Keep rounding 'em up.

I bet that the "community activists" and city spokespeople are claiming it was because of the asinine ID card program, primarily because of the uproar over their stupid decision to go ahead with the ID cards.

If these immigrants get ID cards, start a bank account, and put all their hard earned money in it - and then get deported - who keeps the money?

Sounds like a good way for the feds to scam some illegals.

It looks like the City of New Haven thinks that it is above the good of the nation. Their ID cards should take precedent over the need to remove illegal aliens. Do we have a "kingdom" going in New Haven?

Hey Butane, how much money do you really think the illegals put in the bank? If you had any knowledge of what happens to dormant bank accounts you would know that the money goes to the State Treasurer and will sit there forever until claimed by the rightful owner. So much for a Federal Government scam.

Imagine the mayor's indignation that duly appointed law ENFORCEMENT agents arrested criminals. Or is the PC term law-abiding undocumented workers.

Borrowing from the old game show "What's My Line", that's 29 down and 14,981 to go. I hope this shows all the wimps who say "We can't send 12 million people back" that we can at least send some back when liberals like DeStefano aren't involved in gumming up the process. If DeStefano cared as much about middle class legal citizens as he does illegal aliens, he might have had a chance to be Governor. Thank God this loser is stuck in the ghetto of Nueva Haven.

There should be two lines in Nueva Haven - illegal aliens enter the first line to get their identification card, food stamps, and application for welfare from John DeStefano - then get into a second ICE line to board a bus to take them back home. QUESTION: If these illegal aliens are so smart and so industrious, aren't they needed more in their homeland to bolster their own third-world economies?

Wow the feds want to send a signal by grabbing .oo1% of the problem? Good job fellas. How about protecting the border so they don't bother to try to come here to begin with. If these people stood up against their own backward corrupt goverments they wouldn't need our jobs either.

Okay so the INS is doing they're job and now your upset. It is just amazing to me that New Haven has voted to allow people that are living here ILLEGALLY to now get identification so they can open bank accounts and use other services not available to them because they are ILLEGAL. If I do some thing illegal I get thrown in jail, if they are in this country illegally they get handed services and special considerations. What is wrong with this picture?

It's called Justice. It was money that was obtained illegaly anyway, ie: they're here illegaly which means they obtained the money wich in the process of commiting a crime.
