Yes you can, YES YOU CAN......END UP IN JAIL!! but I really think all this crap was staged so people can feel sorry for those arrested. Pelosi should have been arrested for LYING when she stated her thanks for o allowing the immigration rally to take place there and including the veterans which is a big fat lie because it was closed to the vets and he was even stooping as low as to order attack dogs to keep the veterans OUT! If anyone has a right to be there to pay their respects it's our heroes which many go there with a missing limb or in wheel chairs AND THEN TO BE TURNED AWAY....and attack dogs present to keep them out. WHAT KIND OF AFRICAN AMERICAN citizen could treat another American veteran in such a disrespectful manner? the commander in chief himself? I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. Just what is he trying to PROVE?

This reallly was an outrage, and one that should have really opened some eyes to the arrogance and lack of respect this president and his minions have for the very men and womean who fought for our rights...not the rights of illegals.

No shortage of outrage in Teabagger land. Ted Cruz and the GOP shutdown the government then wail about the results. Pathetic hypocrites. No worries, they can all enjoy some time with their families after the voters fire their assses in 2014.

Speaking of hypocrites, how about Obama closing the mall and the war monuments to veterans then opening it for illegal aliens to protest. That, my friend, is the type of travesty that is becoming all too common with this disfunctional administration.

Teaboogers shut down the government, then wail about it being closed. You hypocrites.

You should be ashamed at yourself using those brave men as pawns in your sick political stunts.

The voters will make you pay in 2014.

This comment shows how much you know. If you actually think one side is totally to blame for the crap that is going on, you are totally out of touch with reality. The entire lot of the idiots in DC are too blame, from the top down. This president and the rest of the boobs in DC care only about their persoanl agendas, and apparently the best interests of the US citizens are not part of their plan. Wake up...most of the players are tainted, some mo4re than others. To blame only one side is being as childish and inept as the commander-in chief.

You fool. Reid and Boehner negotiated the CR months ago. Democrats wanted to restore some programs that were cut from the budget in the sequester. Boehner refused, then Reid agreed to the amount set by the GOP. Then Raphael Cruzbagger took over and demanded that they de-fund the ACA. Republicans can't take yes for an answer. That is why the government shut down. You can lie about it all you want, but the voting public knows who is responsible for this shutdown. You bbuttmunches will pay in 2014.

Just more BS Teddy. Of course the teabaggers shut down the government. The strange part of it is that they shut it down because they did not like a law that is on the books. The teabaggers all claim to carry copies of the Constitution around with them. Somebody should read it and find out that there are procedures in place to change laws that you do not like.

You have to decide how you feel about laws. When it comes to people trying to change immigration laws through the Constitutional process you have nothing but contempt. The law is the law is the law and nobody should ever question a law under any circumstances.

When it comes to a law that you do not like it is much different. Not only have you stopped criticizing people who want to change a law, but you are making excuses for the genuine harm they are causing people using methods that are certainly outside of the Constitution.

So what is it Teddy? Should all laws be chiseled in stone and never changed or should you just blow off laws that you do not like? You can not have it both ways.

ONLY THE COMMANDER IN SHIT can give the order to shut down, CONGRESS doesn't have the authority because they deal with the legislative branch as the EXECUTIVE BRANCH which is the prez's BRANCH and he ORDERED THE SHUTDOWN, flatly refusing to negotiate and stated this in his own words. Then we have the judicial branch which deals with the supreme court, etc.

ima is correct. Department of Parks is under the Executive Branch, aka the White House. So it was the Obama Admin that shut down the mall, NOT the Tea Party.

BTW, why is the Presidential golf course still open?

I don't understand why the Tea Party is being vilified by everybody. As far as I've seen, all they want is to return to the principles of the Founding Fathers, principles that made this nation the greatest nation on earth -- limited govt, Constitutional freedoms and limitations, reasonable taxation, rule of law, etc. All commonsense principles to me. Why are they being vilified for these?

Ima is right about nothing. She works for the government yet has not idea how it works. If you are looking for problems in government you can start with her.

Anybody with a second grade education knows the Congress controls spending. Nobody else. They shut down the government.

The is no such thing as the Presidential golf course. Did somebody on FOX tell you there was? That's funny.

I do have a second-grade education, so I do know that Congress controls spending, as you stated. But you have to have a third-grade education, which I have, to know that Parks & Recreation is under the Executive branch -- aka, Obama's purview. So ima is correct.

And nobody at FOX told me about the Presidential golf course. I deduced that on my own, after seeing reports of him golfing amidst all the shutdowns.

Please tell us about all of these shutdowns you have seen reports about. Do you know there has only been one shutdown in the past 17 years. How far back do your reports go.

I don't know how to break this to you, but Parks and recreation is a TV show. There is no such thing as a federal department of Parks and Recreation. Even if there was it would still have nothing to do with the president.

Really??? Do you really want to play that immature, confuse-and-obfuscate, irrelevant, semantic game? Why is it that I only encounter this kind of under-the-belt, personal-attack, immature, outside-the-topic nonsense response from Liberals/Democrats/Progressive s?? WHY????

To Memo From Turner:

"US DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR" -- is that more specific for ya?? Happy now? Good. Ok, now go back and replace that with what I wrote before.

Change anything? OF COURSE NOT. It's still the same message, isn't it? Everybody here agrees. SO WHAT DID YOU PROVE? Nothing. You proved nothing. Except that you're a jackass and a jerk and a troll. If you can't debate with respect and dignity, succinct to the topic, then git outta here.

To Memo From Turner:

BTW, the US Department of the Interior is a department of the Executive Branch, aka Obama's branch. Congress sets the budget, but the executive branch can gerrimander the budget. Obama CHOSE to cut federal parks and monuments because he knew this would affect Americans visibly. He WANTS Americans to feel the shutdown. YOU know that. Everyone knows that.

The question is why? Why would a sitting US president do that to Average-Joe Americans? Why? If Obama really cared about us, he would look for other programs to cut down. God knows we have hundreds of programs that aren't essential. So why? Why that?
