I'm happy that the illegal alien population is waning. However, there are still millions who have stolen into our country and squatted without right or welcome. When we have reduced the population of illegal aliens to near zero, I will be satisfied.

Living in southern California, it does make one wonder if the reason for their exodus is truly the economy, or is it that they have turned this part of our country into a cesspool likened to the one they came from so there is really nothing to keep them from going back?

Makes absolutely no difference to the bulging illegal alien population and their anchors. It's like cleaning one room in house full of fleas or bed bugs - they will soon spread again. It's far too late the illegals breed and breed and we are stuck with bill for many generations. Thank you greedy business owners and city officials who love illegals because they can expolit them and steal tax money like in Bell.

Wait. How can I tell everyone that America is being overrun by illegals if the number of illegals is actually decreasing?

How can I argue that welfare and benefits are what draw illegals to America when welfare and benefits don't seem to be keeping them here?

Facts suck!!!

Sorry, but don't believe everything you read. It's not declining, those reports are full of crap, they are just trying to fool the American people again before elections.

Study: Calif has 23 percent of illegal immigrants

A new study says nearly a quarter of the nation's illegal immigrants live in California, despite a nearly 4 percent drop in the state's illegal population.

A Pew Hispanic Center report released Wednesday estimates California had 2.55 million illegal immigrants in 2009, a 3.8 decrease from the year before. The state accounts for 23 percent of illegal immigrants in the United States.

The study also says illegal immigrants now comprise 6.9 percent of California's population the highest percentage in the country. California trails only Nevada with illegal labor comprising 9.3 percent of its work force.

Overall, the number of illegal immigrants in the United States has dropped for the first time in 20 years.

If 2.55 million is 25% then 10.2 million would be their number for total illegals in the US. This is the low ball estimate, some estimates are 20 million+.

ICE deports 300,000 a year max. That according to them is all they have the money and recourses to deport. The border patrol estimates that 500,000 people successfully cross into the U.S. from Mexico every year.
Declining?

Those who say that illegal aliens are declining are the same people who think that the government can spend its way out of debt and tax us into prosperity.

With 20 million plus illegal aliens still in the United States dropping anchor babies (7 out of 10 babies born in Texas are born of illegals), I would say yes, we are STILL overrun. Facts really do suck, don't they?

While I can understand how the government can count the number of illegals here due to over staying their visas since they entered legally so there is a record. How do you count the number of people that are here illegally because they snuck into the country? It is not like anybody can count them as they enter.
The estimates are supplied by the same people who are supposed to keep them out. Not that they would any reason to make the numbers look like they are effectively doing their jobs.

Nice try. But, all of us aren't as stupid as you would like us to be. We know that the infestation of illegals is killing California. We must don't have the "stones" to prevent it.

It is true that over 10% of all Mexican citizens live in the United States. Also Mexicans account for over 33% of all American citizenships granted each year yet they say it is too hard to come here legally so they have to come illegally. It looks like the biggest problem with immigration laws and the greatest reason for reform is that we currently allow too many Mexicans in legally and not enough people from the rest of the world. If we truly want a diverse nation we must have comprehensive immigration reform that reduces the number of people from Mexico allowed to immigrate so that there is room for other nationalities.
