Dec 27, 2013 Full story: Courier News 22

They think they will get Hispanic votes but they are not considering this fact: The vast majority of the illegal aliens come from countries with strong socialist leanings, Latin America and Asia.

Amnesty would probably bring an end to the Republican party. Preventing amnesty is one of the few things the R party does to benefit the people.

Take a look at the last election. The Hispanic vote was 8.4% of the total vote. Republicans got 3.0% of that. Why worry about the 5.4% that democrats got. Also remember this it's not the popular vote that counts, it's the electoral vote that does.

California votes democratic anyway, they would be better off if they sent their Hispanic voters to another state.

Amnesty does not help the average American.

If Amnesty happens where do you think most Mexicans will live? California, because they do not assimilate and apples don't fall far from the tree. They want to be able to jump back over the border whenever they want. That won't help California or democrats much because California is already locked up for democrats.

It will be a driving force that sends California welfare state to the poorhouse and bankruptcy.

If the republican party dies another party will be born. The US can not be a one welfare state party who invites anyone here and welcomes them to be on welfare. How long do you think the people will stand for that?

"People want to know why America is slipping in international test score rankings. Hell, weíre slipping in every category from technological advancement to quality of life. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that weíre diluting our citizenry with the cast-offs from third-world nations. Itís kind of like the plot for Idiocracy in which the dumbing down of a society has disastrous consequences for each generation to follow."

"Exceptional countries donít remain so by filling its borders with unremarkable people. Not only does our immigration policy send us toward a less-than-super power status, it is sure to rob us of our cultural heritage, as immigrants become the majority. Belgium gets it with their new tough standards. Too bad our leaders canít see the same thing."

By 2050 this Country will be brown, and it will be broke and a 3rd world economy. Whites do not reproduce like Mexicans. I'll be gone, but my grand kids and there children will never know the U,S.A. They can read ABOUT IT, but the cruel truth is we're being invaded and the global leadership is compliant in ruining capitalism, and conservatism...The good old USA will be gone.

BTW, there will be normal cities and there will be sanctuary cities, guess which ones brown people will live in? Heavy in the SW. Bad schools, few hospitals and crime.

If you really want a flag that represents slavery and oppression, fly the U.S. flag. We've killed Indians with that flag. This country has done all kinds of things wrong and hidden behind that flag. No one says a thing.ó Drew Carey

If they grant amnesty, 80% of the new voters will vote strictly Democratic. How does Boehner, the buffoon, figure that will help the Republican party? Flooding our market with cheap labor from the third world will kill our already weak job market and depress wages further. Amnesty is insanity.

Simple: Boehner is terrified of being called a racist. Sure, there are illegal immigrants from Scotland. There are illegal immigrants from Poland. But lefties will always shriek "RACIST!" at every opportunity, the media will repeat it over and over and over.

It doesn't even have to be factual. Repeat something over and over and over, it becomes fact.

So in order to keep getting people with "R" next to their names in Congress, we have to compromise everything.

Isn't it interesting, though, how media imprinted "racist" on the weak minds of leftists? Just like they imprinted "war on women" the same way. You could ask a leftie how the liberals are so supportive of women yet one of the Socialist/Democrat presidents had his genitalia sucked and ejaculated in the face of a 20-year-old employee, a vice presidential candidate pimped his wife's terminal cancer for votes while screwing around on her, and a former S/D vice president (now renowned environmental scientist?) assaulted a massage therapist in a hotel room in Portland.

You're right. I think that's because our representatives represent the rich and it always has been that way. The average American is pretty good but our leaders make us all look bad. No wonder we're hated all around the world. We try to rob everyone who has anything worth stealing.

The mere fact that both parties are debating whether or not granting amnesty will help or hurt them at the polls is clearly an indication that they are basing decisions on their own political careers, not on what's best for the country. This type of mentality coming from our elected officials is dangerous and destructive.

It was a Republican President along with the Republican party responsible for legalizing over three million people back in 1986. Hispanics thanked them by voting overwhelmingly for Democrats thereafter and that trend has continued to this very day.

Republicans need not fool themselves again. Hispanics enjoy the perks of big government liberals endorse and all the free stuff that comes along with it. They also share liberal views of lawlessness and see no benefit in maintaining a civilized society.

If Republicans go along with this proposed amnesty, they will not only facilitate the demise of their own party, they will enable Democrats to bring this country down to it's knees. The devastation of this amnesty will be massive and the damage irreversible.

Republicans should stick to their belief in the rule of law and stay true to the oath of office they took to defend/protect this country and it's citizens!

I agree! Democrats are counting on this grand citizenship give-a-way to bring in millions of new voters to their base. Their hopes of dismantling the Republican party and remaining in control for decades to come will be accomplished.

Of course, the average citizen and uninformed voter, will not understand the consequences of the country resorting to a one-party system of government. I doubt many will care until they wake up and realize one day there's no free money left to load onto their EBT cards and no hospitals open for their free charity care!

Our constitution is designed to maintain a balance of both liberal and conservative polices as an equal way of governing. Having a system of government functioning to the extreme left or right creates an imbalance that simply does not work.

We are actually seeing evidence of an imbalance to the left now and it's why we're in financial ruin. Laws are not being enforced, public education is being diminished, social safety net programs are bursting at the seams, skyrocketing cost of health care, failing economy, high unemployment, etc. To complicate matters more, we are forced to foot the bills for millions of illegals who shouldn't even be here.

We think it's chaotic now? Just wait!

You're absolutely right. The sad part is how easy it was for Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to convinced the Republican leadership how their party will be marginalized and never win another election if they don't get on board with this amnesty. Boehner, Ryan and the rest of the neocons actually think that Reid and Pelosi are truly concerned with their electability. What idiots.

LOL! It does seem as if Boehner and a few other Republicans are hell bent and determined to assist the Democrats in expanding their voting block. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!!!!!
