Absolutely gorgeous, Jax!
I've never seen or heard of that wood. I love the table and the contrast with the black drawer.
Glad you had such a fine day.
Beautiful weather here--we went for a long walk, one of our usual spots. We have hundreds and hundreds of miles of Municipal and State parks for hiking around here.

Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday.

The dogwoods are blooming here and the redbuds still have some pretty good color.

I love this time of year.

One word...awesome.
We both needed it too.
As much as he's been working and with the farm, time to just relax and enjoy ourselves is hard to come by.
He flew out on another business trip earlier this evening.
We had yesterday and today and we made the most out of it.
I bought a couple of pieces of hand-thrown pottery from a shop downtown, but nothing major today.
I hope you've had a good day too.
Aww, sounds wonderful. Gotta seize those opportunities, make memories. Love is lovely.

...and exhausting.

Just got the call telling me he made it there in one piece so I'm headed to bed.

You have a good night.

The really sad part is that we all know he's going to be reading every word that get's posted here.
I waste more than enough time trying to get through to that lost cause.
Something about this song kind of sums it up.

The water up to our chin
And all we can do
Is Sink or swim
Lose or win
Take hold of your own fate
Before it's too late
Will you fall?
Will you fail?
Will your strength endure and prevail?
Fear not the flames
At your feet
Fear not the weight of defeat
Trust your heart through the fire
And let the winds of change in your life transpire
Fortune favors the bold
Persevere and you will survive the cold
Focus your eyes to the heavens
for it is for you he has risen
In his image we are cast
From the first hair to the last
And with his promise we travail
And through his grace we prevail
I will prop you on that thread but I refuse to add to that thread count so I brought it here. I hope you don't mind...

Thanks Dp. I wrote it thinking of one of the posters here who is facing a very tough struggle.

Every word does not apply to this poster's particular situation but what this poster is going through inspired the over all theme of survival and faith.

I really appreciate your input.

I'm glad DP brought that over here. I didn't see it on the other thread.

It's really good.

Here's one of mine that kind of expresses the same thing. Not as good as yours, but...
----------

The Seed

Grey tide rise to wash the shore with ashen foaming crest

Spawned of depths as yet untouched to fill the sandy nest

And drown the seed within it's shell to draw it toward the sea

And kill the life the life that dared to stand on thoughts that would be free

But waves must crash, the tide must fall and currents still run strong

To distant lands and other shores although the journey's long

And when the tide shall rise again to carry life away

The seed will set it's sights on land and wait the coming day

Well, I screwed that up. Here it is with the fourth line fixed. Not really worth repeating, but I wanted to get it right...

Okay, one more and then I'll quit...

Where Magic Lives

There is a place where magic lives
and childhood runs its course
Amid the ruins of innocence
and shards of dark remorse

Where orchards grow in disarray
atop a hill of pine
And dogwood marks a river bank
across the forest line

Thick with mist on summers ever
a pale moon crowns the night
Hung on tacks of diamond chips
and framed in firefly light

Where wishes soar on fairy wings
to tend the forests care
as scent of rose and honeydew
refresh the midnight air

This place lives in all of us
though few retain the key
To step beyond the lives we live
and set the magic free

D.C. gridlock vanishes, when Congress is inconvenienced

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-3460_162-57581773...

By Bob Schieffer

.....And as if to underline that Washington can always find a way to help itself even if it remains gridlocked when it comes to helping others, when the Congress realized late last week that those budget cuts from the so-called sequester were going to cause layoffs of air traffic controllers which would cause delays that would inconvenience them, what happened to gridlock?

Well, miraculously, it disappeared, and legislation to keep the planes running on time eased through both houses of Congress like it had grease on it......
