"GOP House members are pushing legislation to deny birthright citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants, but advocates say they are wasting their time on settled law and turning off Hispanics."

How Hispanics have voted in the past. Don't fall for their bullshit. Republicans are losing the American vote, not the Hispanic vote.

Of course, it is Human Smuggling. But, we don't measure up to previous generations of Americans and must pay for benefits and services for any who ignore our law and sneak across the Border. It's awful for America and makes no sense whatsoever to give away citizenship unless you think it has no Value. but it is Very "progressive"

Reyes, you and your minions are toxic to America. Chain migration is the number one problem with birthright citizenship, not to mention 12-13 year's getting pregnant and shoved over the border by their filthy 3rd world turd parent's. This is another matter that unless attended too legally, will devour any attempt's for illegals to get their percieved reform. King better stick to his guns on this, it's simply the largest threat to our Sovereignty that has ever occurred. They keep anchoring and we pay!!!! No Mas.

You're pretty much right. The only people, like myself, who are actually doing things to protect themselves from the "Regime",are people like me who are not famous or infamous and generally just regular people who will fall through the cracks of shyt like obamacare. We dont care about gay shyt, but wonder how it reached a federal forum. Paul has good ideas but they wont go anywhere because they dont destroy the American experiment fast enough. The "progressives" will see to that...I'm glad I live in Texas.

Some politicians are throwing away the melting pot full of Americans to chase after spoon. Americans such as myself, even ones who try to be compassionate, are offended more and more with each one of these violations against us. They don't seem to care that each of these 'policies' affect we the people DIRECTLY! END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP NOW!! May God bless this bill to pass. Enough is enough. Citizens, keep a list, pass it around to other citizens and let's VOTE WITH A VENGEANCE - crossing any political party lines that may be required (I am an Independent)

Good post...both parties are ghosts of their former selves...both are out of touch with reality and We the People. The founding fathers are like whirling dervishes in their graves.

We will be heard if we organize as the Illegals have with La Raza and the suitcases full of corporate money. Having had some kind of " Faith " that eventually the goverment would step up for its true citizens and do the right thing with these people whom have nothing less than invaded us, it seems we the people are of no importance. Why not move to clean up the stables. It can be done. Move now to end citizenship to these children born to Illegals...No benefits. We need to be heard.

That's what the pro-illegal crowd would have us believe, but it's BS. They don't pay their fair share for educating, medicating, feeding, housing and incarcerating their kids. Not even close when you figure they make peanuts, send billions out of the country in remittances and get billions in child tax credits for kids they don't even have. Guess who resisted a bill that would stop future payments? Now, why is that?

Put down the crack pipe. No they don't they get back far more than they put into the system via their anchor turditos. Hell the IRS gives them millions via a loophole it has failed to close years ago. Prove it if you can by posting some actual data versus your personal opinion and la ratza rhetoric.

There are many ways to debate immigration, but when it comes to economics, there isn’t much of a debate at all. Nearly all economists, of all political persuasions, agree that immigrants — those here legally or not — benefit the overall economy.“That is not controversial,” Heidi Shierholz, an economist at the Economic Policy Institute, told me. Shierholz also said that “there is a consensus that, on average, the incomes of families in this country are increased by a small, but clearly positive amount, because of immigration.”

The benefit multiplies over the long haul. As the baby boomers retire, the post-boom generation’s burden to finance their retirement is greatly alleviated by undocumented immigrants. Stephen Goss, chief actuary for the Social Security Administration, told me that undocumented workers contribute about $15 billion a year to Social Security through payroll taxes. They only take out $1 billion (very few undocumented workers are eligible to receive benefits). Over the years, undocumented workers have contributed up to $300 billion, or nearly 10 percent, of the $2.7 trillion Social Security Trust Fund.

Substantial Presence Test
You will be considered a U.S. resident for tax purposes if you meet the substantial presence test for the calendar year. To meet this test, you must be physically present in the United States on at least:
31 days during the current year, and
183 days during the 3-year period that includes the current year and the 2 years immediately before that, counting:
All the days you were present in the current year, and
1/3 of the days you were present in the first year before the current year, and
1/6 of the days you were present in the second year before the current year.
