Easy for Canada to say. You don't have to live next to them.

There are plenty of hard labor farm jobs that are left unfilled.

Clearly, many Americans prefer unemployment payments/welfare and a day spent watching "Springer" to hard work for low pay.

So I don't have a problem with a guest worker program.

I especially like this part: "To ensure that they don’t overstay their employment visa, the Canadian government takes out part of the workers’ pay and puts it into a special fund — workers get the money when they return to Mexico."

BTW, it's not just Democrats/liberals who want Mexican workers here. A lot of wealthy Republicans (and Libertarians) want them as well- to work for their businesses (both large and small) and to landscape their lawns, etc.

yes....finaly somebody is using their head.......we need a guest worker program........we don't need new citizens that cannot read, write.....but we do need unskilled workers to till our fields and harvest our crops........
to be a immigrant citizen of this country you need to fit certain criteria/requirements which is plainly posted on the state department's website.

first step is to obtain a green card:

Perhaps making welfare pay half what a job pays would be an incentive.

I agree.

I've always said that we don't have an "illegal" problem.

Our problem is that we have a free loader problem- both "legals" and "illegals".

I have no problem with "illegals" who come here to work, but I despise free loaders, no matter which side of the Rio Grande they are born on.

Getting rid of the welfare state will fix our problems far better than putting fences and machine guns on the border will.
