Read and learn....it wasn't stolen property. Mexico was paid 15 million for some southwest territories. Those people involved are all dead now and we didn't inherit stolen property, you idiot! If it were it is up to the Mexican government to try and re-claim it not a bunch of whiney Mexicans who can't seem to make a go of it in their own country. As I asked, what are illegal Mexicans doing in other parts of the U.S. that Mexico never owned? That makes them thieves doesn't it?

Illegals are more of a drain on our society that they are a benefit. When you take into account that they pay no federal income taxes but use our medical facilities and fraudulently claim social benefits of which they are not entitled, their contributions pale in comparison to the amount that they cost.

Trotting out the old tried and true .... the illegals are hard working people only doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do. Complete Hogwash

In reality if the US was really intent on solving this issue they would abolish all social welfare, including welfare cash payments, food stamps, housing and heating assistance, and Earned Income Credit. Let the citizens carry their own weight. " No job" =... no money ... no food .... no house .... limited existence.

It would be cheaper for the country and for the productive in the country if we allowed the flotsom and jetsum of this country to just perish. In the end it will be cheaper to sweep the dead bodies off the street than it will be to carry the losers in this country from cradle to grave.

A long story short, the United States went to war and swiftly kicked the crap out of the army of the great Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (refer to the map for more information). And, believe it or not, the United States marched into the capital, effectively conquering the entire state of Mexico.

Now, the United States could have justifiably annexed all of Mexico, to the victor goes the spoils, right?

United States actually paid for the territory it could have rightfully taken from Mexico. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo says it all. Mexico would finally recognize the independence of Texas, and cede “Upper California” and “New Mexico”(California, Nevada, Utah, et Arizona) for the price of 15 million dollars. The US also forgave 3.25 million dollars of Mexican debts. The grand total, in modern US currency would be 462.2 million dollars.

This treaty angered a lot of people –“why should we pay?” There was also the “all of Mexico movement” which called for the total annexation of Mexico. So, the next time you hear someone , we stole that land, remind them that we both conquered and PAID for that land.

How funny... The US/Gringos stole from Mexico/Mexicans...?

The first thief complaining because someone came along later and stole the land they had stolen. Perhaps we should let the people of the American southwest decide for themselves. A vote on whether or not to return to Mexico would be interesting. I'd love to see the spoiled pampered Latinos of The US trying to survive under Mexican domination. That would be a laugh riot.

There was no such thing as ownership of land back when the Europeans first migrated here. The so-called native's ancestors migrated here just like everyone else did. Anyone born here is a native so WTH are you talking about?

White Americans are a joke? Well, you finally show your racism. I knew you Reconquista types can't seem to hide your hatred of them. What is ironic is that these same people have white ancestors themselves aka the Spaniards.

In short, if you or your ancestors migrated here you are not a native no matter how long you have been here.

Santa Anna fought first against Mexican independence from Spain, then in support of it. Though not the first caudillo (military leader) of Mexico, he was among the earliest.

He was general and president multiple times over a turbulent 40-year career; he was president on eleven non-consecutive occasions over a period of 22 years. A wealthy landowner, he built a firm political base in the major port city of Veracruz. He was the hero of the Army; he sought glory for himself and his army, and repeatedly rebuilt it after major losses. A brave soldier and a cunning politician, he so dominated his era that historians often call it the "Age of Santa Anna."

Kinda hard to accuse the person who the people of Mexico elected as their president 11 times, as the thief of their countries land.

Just to clarify:

Per your metaphor .... effectively the Mexican people signed over the title to the land (car) when they elected Santa Anna as their president. So in essence the Mexican people gave him the land and he legally sold it to the United States.

When I was in the US a few years ago. traveling by car from Idaho Falls,Great Falls to Lethbridge Canada to get to Calgary in Canada I had to cross the US Canadian Border.
During my travels in the US and Canada, I meet many people on both sides of the border.
-
This story is what I was told by a Native Aboriginal Canadian.
He was telling me that living near the border where his land Indian Reservation occupies both countries The USA and Canada, that both countries pays him social security benefits, for he and his family are citizen of both countries.
-
In Canada they pay no income tax on money earned.

Native American Indian casinos!... These are owned by 242 of the nation's 565 federally-recognized tribes and operate in 28 of the 50 states.
-
In the USA the native American own casinos, The southern native American is asking for handouts all he is asking for is to be able to work and get paid slaves wages
-
1st question why are you not as harsh with the native Canadian Indians who is allowed to cross your borders with very little control.

2nd question why do you call the Canadian Native Indian Aboriginal of Canada and you do not the Mexican native Indian an Aboriginal, for he according to many post I been reading the native Americans are also migrants to the country.
-
The word "you" is used in the plural, My "you" is not directed to anyone in particular.
-
The word Aboriginal means existing in a place from the earliest known period; indigenous; autochthonous

you are so messed up, it's unbelievable.

let me just say this, moron. if you think you have the right to some land, go ahead, try to take it.

like Riddick said in the movie, "it's yours if you can keep it."

in the meantime, what are you going to do to the people who currently live in the usa if you think we are living on YOUR land? are you going to kill us all? force us to pay you homage of some sorts?
