Keep marriage one man and one woman, because I don't want to practice Sharia.
Stupid slippery slope fallacy. You seem to be full of them, and when one fails, you make another one.

Sharia Law prohibits all forms of homosexuality. Geez I'm surprised you found your way down the birth canal!

<quoted text>If you think discussing the possible consequences of rewriting marriage law is an attack, how can you defend somebody who uses disgusting derogatory words for gays and lesbian? I question your priorities.
They are just using you to push their anti-gender, anti-masculine and anti-feminist agendas. That's why they call you disgusting names when your back is turned. You know it's true, you see the way they insult political opponents. What do you think gives gays and lesbians immunity when they aren't needed to push the agenda?
It was your anti gay crowd that rewrote laws. Not us. Even now your side is trying to change the U.S. Constitution itself to meet your special rights agenda.

An anti masculine anti feminist agenda?
LMAO.
THINK ABOUT IT you nut!

How can an agenda be both anti female and anti male? Well except for your crazy gender segregated marriage BS.

Yes we'd like a society that doesn't force gender roles. It's ok for men to cry Brian. And it's OK for women to be strong leaders.
That doesn't mean any of us don't want a Mom to comfort us and a Dad to talk to when we need him.

Shame on you for altering a post to suit your special rights agenda and to attack me.

Talk about misquoting and taking things out of context.

Which posts (cause I know they are from several) did you use to come up with those words you claim I said.

Brian, first of all, homosexuals are not getting the INS to redefine marriage. The federal government (after Windsor) must recognize same sex marriage performed in jurisdictions that allow them.
Secondly, homosexuality is a sexuality, Islam is a religion. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.
Are you actively trying to prove that you aren't very bright?
<quoted text>
Brian, you dolt, sharia would define marriage as one man and one woman. You are advocating for the same position as sharia.
<quoted text>
The consequences are that people of the same sex could marry. You've yet to come up with a single detrimental consequence that is anything more than a figment of your imagination.

Brian, truth is an absolute defense to defamation. You have earned every one of the names you have been called.
If you quit posting stupid things that were false, misleading, unconstitutional, or that just make it appear that you lack basic reading comprehension skills, or a firm grasp of reality, then perhaps people wouldn't call you names.
When you advocate for fellow citizens to be held as second class citizens with less than equal protection of the law, you should expect a certain degree of fallout.
I once to a black male co-worker that if he didn't like people stereotyping him as a lazy black man he should stop fulfilling the stereotype.

No, gays are not a protected class because the SCOUS has not ruled gays are. I personally feel they should be however that is up to the court to decide. DOMA did not go far enough however it do believe it will once these types of cases are heard.
Actually since they remanded the PropH8 decision back to the 9th they did agree we have protected status.

And Windsor definitely put us there as well.

NEWSFLASH
SCOTUS HAS ruled on discrimination laws that the States have passed. They are legal and in accordance with the Constitution, particularly under the equal protection clause of 14.

No, the report is not misusing the word sued. The court will decide if a crime was committed. Federal Laws and rulings exist in reference to drug activity.
I was trying to point out that on the threads about the sting operations in East Baton Rouge they don't use the word lawsuit the call it a crime.

Brian you and I are on opposite ends of gay rights however I do believe this case is very important to the country. Does the guaranteed right to public access mean the business owner's private right to exclude is violated? I believe this will clearly define Free Exercise Clause as it pertains to this case. Many factors will have to be looked at here because access could be defined as going to another florist. I do not know, however I am most interested in this case. This case will make its way in the federal system because I believe it must first be determined that a crime occurred then is this protected under the Civil Rights Act as a crime as defined by the law.

Brian 35 states have some restriction against same sex marriage.
Thus far you have lacked the grey matter to offer any justification for such restrictions that would render them constitutional.
<quoted text>
Of course, none of those secure equal protection under the law to marry. Ergo, homosexuals do not have equal protection under the law.
<quoted text>
And you point is what, exactly?
Oh, and please point out the federal law in question. You so seldom provide proof of your various claims.
BG is using something I pointed out to him a few years back. But he isn't being completely honest about the idea I was stating. No state has banned SSM in a religious sense, only on the civil issue.

Many couples married outside of the US even though those marriages were not granted legal recognition by that State. But they were not banned form doing so. Others had ceremonies that has no religious or legal; backing. But they still considered themselves a married couple.

Yes Folks Brian G did actually agree with me on that. Which is part of why he claims we already have equal rights.

To him when a black slave couple jumped the broom they were married. It just wasn't legal. If I remember correctly he even said that it didn't matter if the State legally recognised them as married; that in God's eyes they were married.

See Brian I DO defend you when someone doesn't understand your basis in some cases. But then you say I'm a liar so......did I lie about that?

In the States we are discussing yes, 2we are a protected class and that is why godsmacked is full of hot air when they claim these cases have legs to stand on. Because they are part of the anti discrimination statutes just as race, religion, disability etc.
He/she/it refuses to comprehend the complexities of State laws verses Federal. I doubt they have even decided which idea should hold the highest merit; State's Rights or the Supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution in Article 6.

But we all know that not every state has added sexual orientation or gender identity to existing nondiscrimination laws.

I can relate to GS in that when I first came on here I didn't know as much as I thought I did about all this. Heck I didn't even have a cell phone so all the text messaging shorthand had me stumped.

But thanks to Rick in Kansas, Snyper, NorCal (Hugs rose and lee btw) NHJeff, even BS detector and so many others I have learned a great deal about legal terms, the parts of the Constitution and how our legal system really works.

Thanks to them I am no longer just the average joe six pack when it comes to all this. And let's not even talk about the amount I have learned about religion because of Topix.

Now 'chance' on the other hand seems to be evolving. Begin at post # 7 and you'll see what I mean.
http://www.topix.com/forum/news/gay/T45D3C97H...
I have pointed out to Brian G the Pharisee many times what happens when religion and government combine like they did in Iran with Khomeini and Afghanistan with the Taliban but he refuses to see the writing on the wall.
We've both been members of Topix for some time now and I know you have seen for yourself the number of people who started out totally against us who have changed their views from discussions and debates with me.(And yes you and others as well).
On that thread I just listed I came down really hard on KittenKoder and I have no regrets doing what I did.
The more I post on the religion thread and the more I quote from scripture, the more I see my own failings in brighter and brighter light.
Sadly I don't think BG is here for anything but to stir the pot and get attention. I think we need to do with him what we did with Honest AbeL. I know I won't do it now but I have already started to ignore BUTTPLUG and his silly tacky attempts at getting attention.
I agree.......in a way that's why I read more and post less.......it's like the same repeated debate regardless of what forum or thread one is in.....when ANY topic regarding Gays and Lesbians having rights.......the conversation always ends up around what the bible claims from people who only live by what they want to........it's rather old and Brian_G will not change......and all he has is regurgitated words......that have been refuted, debunked and laughed at.......now, those words are just boring, silly and pathetic as Daniel P's posts.

Be well my friend and think about the article I gave you about the 2 Transgender teenagers:-)
