GOP sees need to woo Asian-American voters GOP sees need to woo...

Republicans admit they have a problem with Hispanic voters. They have an even bigger problem with Asian-Americans, a group that less than 20 years ago was a majority GOP voting bloc.

well the white guy over there was butt hurt by the idea of asian immigrants getting visas to start businesses in silicon valley.
he couldn't cut it. he wasn't good enough to make it there. so he blames asian immigrants for raising the bar to make silicon valley too high of a level for him to cross.
the thing is, if that level wasn't high, then silicon valley would be just as uncompetitive as the places he worked at.
If you are referring to me (and your brain is so addled, I assume you are) I've said all along on these boards that we should wave in highly educated immigrants from all countries. By welcoming the "best and brightest" from other countries (you clearly are't one of them), we make America stronger.

My wife and here entire family are immigrants. All of the ones in my generation have been successful here- they are engineers, accountants, doctors, teachers, etc.

You really ought to know what you are talking about before you speak.

The fact that I don't support your pathetic and RACIST dating theories doesn't mean I don't support immigration.

you know in any other country, lobbying would be seen as bribery.

think about it. no one can do anything to change the system of bribery in Congress. No one.

Not even close. See, unlike you, he could date just about any girl he wanted, regardless of race. He wasn't a pathetic, whiny Asian guy wishing he could have a white girl, and failing to get one because of his pathetic insecurity (like you), and being forced to settle for some ugly girl.
See, it's not about race, it's about YOU.
If someone comes off as a whiny, pathetic, weak, sniveler who blames others for his own shortcomings, quality women are going to avoid you. Sure, you will find some unattractive and/or insecure girl and "settle"- but you won't get the intelligent, confident, good looking women.
It's not because you are Asian, it's because you are weak and whiny- women don't like weak, sniveling men who blame others for their problems, regardless of race. It's too late to give you this advice now, but maybe I can help another guy in your situation to realize that the problem is with HIM, not with the women, not with "racism" and not with society.
BTW, my brother in law is a doctor. He's a nerd, too- got his undergrad degree in biomedical engineering and worked, coincidentally, in the Silicon Valley for a couple of years before deciding to go to med school. But he's a CONFIDENT nerd who doesn't mind being called a nerd. He wears it as a badge of honor. Kinda like "yeah, that's right, I'm a nerd, and I make $300,000 a year and my car is worth more than your house, bitch." He doesn't walk around with his head down, complaining about how life isn't fair and "blaming white guys" for taking "his" women. Women (of all races) are attracted to guys like him, and not to guys like you. Not because of "race," but because of the way he acts and carries himself. By the same token, women are not attracted to weak, sniveling nerds.
The bottom line: It ain't about race, it's about people. Give women what they want, and you'll do great, whether you are white, Asian, black, or Hispanic. Come off as a whiny sniveler, and women will walk the other way, no matter what your race is.
So my bottom line is, try to date whoever you want, regardless of race. But don't expect you have a "claim" on certain women because you are of the same race. You've got to go out that and win them over- and if you don't, don't be surprised if some "evil" white (or Hispanic or Black) guy comes and takes "your" women. Asian women aren't obligated to date a whiny guy just because he's Asian and thinks he has some sort of "claim" on them.
If you have kids, I hope you teach them that they can date anyone they want, regardless of race.
You see, I do top down analysis. I'm a macro kind of guy. Its not just bottom up analysis that decides the picture.

I don't think you understand. Everything you said you are assuming. I already told you, I'm married.

I rather focus on top down analysis. Its something that does't seem like a strong suit for you.

First off, you aren't even close when you say "only the smartest get government positions." Government jobs are for mediocre people with no ambition.
I believe in 100% meritocracy. Schools and companies should take only the best, regardless of race. I don't support quotas to "help oppressed minorities," nor do I support reverse discrimination against those racial groups that tend to do well (e.g. whites and Asians regarding school selection).
BTW, I've never been afraid of "Asian" competition. I'm better than all but a tiny fraction of a percentage of Whites, and I'm better than all but a tiny fraction of a percentage of Asians.
BTW, my wife (you know, that Asian girl I "stole" from "your people") is the first girl I dated who had a better SAT math score than I did- I like smart girls, so I married her (well, she was kinda hot, too). Because hot girls get old, and listening to a dumb, formerly hot girl would get old real fast. But smart girls stay that way, even after age 40.
oh, in most Asian countries, government positions are held by the smartest people. it is seen as more prestigious.

but looking at the paychecks of government employees in California, they definitely get better packages than private sector employees.

Dood, SAT Math? 10% of Koreans get an 800 on the SAT Math. That means already by admitting you didn't score a perfect on the SAT Math, you are behind on the curve.

Please. I'm talking to an inferior being.

Well okay. I may have confused you with another white guy. You guys all look alike what can I say.

Anyways, how come you didn't score 800 on SAT Math?

Thats too bad. If you studied a little more you could have been average for a Korean.^_^

Yup.
The only problem is, Republicans cultivate their "brand" as "anti-" everything non- white/WASP.
They drive away even those who would seem to be on their side.
That's right and who said "education" is a Republican value?????

I've always considered it bribery but who am I. Our politicians have devised a system where it is almost impossible to throw them out and it's even harder to convict them of any wrongdoing.

So would I, my man, if I had the time. But it won't be easy because the rich man has the judge in his pocket and they have made it into an issue of free speech. Free speech, my a$$. But the rich make the laws in this country and that will be our undoing.

I don't think it would be that easy. The lobbiests are big advertisers on the networks and big contributors to the politicians and as such they will be protected by both corrupt entities. No matter how right you are, if they air negative stories about your positions every day, the court of public opinion turns against you. It's a fixed system favoring the rich and the politicians they bribe.

Then you would have to get more creative with the placards

i.e.

Signs that say

" We Say Our Mind. Journalists Who Can't be Bought Out"

" Lobbying = Bribery!!! whose telling you different?"

etc...etc...

It would be great! Make some louder and louder noise until something or some institution breaks from their guilt!! its boring as hell otherwise!

The SAT test has been "dumbed down" at least twice since I took it. It appears rather easy to get an 800 today. At one time, it took real ability.

My SAT/GRE scores were good enough to get into RPI and MIT (I have degrees from both), so I think I'm doing okay.

Regarding "the best going into government"- thats just sad- perhaps that's why Korea, China, etc have lagged behind for so long. When your best minds go into government, you are in big trouble.

It won't happen, because lobbyist have money and use it, whereas the sort of rabble who "demonstrate" rarely have money. Congress will cater to those who give them money.

Yes, its been dumbed down twice since I took it too. I got 800 in the SAT math in the 9th grade. Now its wayyy too easy to get an 800.

My SAT score puts me at 1 in 20,000
The highest score when I took it was 1 in 1 million.

Now the MAX SAT score is 1 in 2,000

Well Korea's problems are different than China's problems. But as far as it comes to problem solving, that is pretty much IQ dependent, just coupled with proper motivation. US society on the other hand has gone too far into the extreme of not emphasizing talent and motivating hard work. IQ has become too much of a political liability. Therefore bridges fall, airplanes get fires, innovation only exists in Silicon Valley as a result, the last bastion of meritocracy in America.

Its time to stop lobbying.

Yeah, its much harder to collect a dollar from every single consumer, than to get millions from Monsanto or Chevron etc...

Silicon Valley is only 1 place out of many in the United States. If you had the SAT scores you claim to have had, you would have known that, right?
