Hi Spud long time no see.
I doubt that you are correct about Hispanic voters going all Democratic. They have a survey that shows Hispanics willing to consider voting the Republican party if they pass the reform and don't try to block it again.

I don't know where you get your figures on the number of illegals here but they are soo wrong. Plus what makes you think that they don't have their families here already?

It will happen and it has to. The only question is if it's done now or later. The sooner it's taken out of the equation the sooner Government can confront other issues.

immigration reform now. congress needs to stop wasting tax payers' time and money. when is the american people going to say enuff is enuff!! year after year the same old story. too complicated. come on USA, if you cant solve your own internal problems, why do u think u can solve the world's? oh, rubio needs to stay out of the debate. he clearly wants noting done.
I voted for Rubio last time but he won't get my vote the next time he runs. I don't care for someone that changes his mind every time he turns around.
The only problem we have had fixing this problem has been the tea party run Republican party. They became the party of no in order to keep any Democratic reform from happening. So they effectively closed down Congress.

14 reasons why this is the worst Congress ever
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/...

Most all of this is because of a Republican party that decided not to pass anything that would make Obama look good. Not even anything that would help Americans with getting more jobs back and help the economy to grow and help to lower the deficit.

How will America benefit though?

I see no gain in rewarding 30,000,0000 criminals for their unlawful entry into our nation.

Moreover, isnt it a slap in the face to those who became citizens by taking the proper steps to US citizenship?

Eurpoean immigrants had something in common with our citizenry. A common language. A common work ethic. A common blood line.

I live in a border state and I dont see with today's immigrants.

Their eyes only show anger, greed, envy and resentment. I am from an affulent family. I dont have to live among them.

But what about the Americans who dont have that luxury?

To begin with where do you get your 30,000,00 number for the amount of those here now? It's no where near that number.
As to it being a slap in the face of those that came legally that doesn't seem to be the case for the majority of current legal immigrants living here now. If they don't care why do you?
All immigrants have something in common with Americans. We after all are already a mixed basket of ethnicity .
As to those coming in now having eyes full of anger, greed, envy and resentment. Did you ever think that you may be mistaking fear, need, hope and anxiety for the other?
As to living among them I lived in Mexico back in 2000 and they are the most generous and kind people. Not that there isn't always a bad apple here and there just like in any other group of people. So really if you live around people at all you have the same problems or not depending on those currently around you.

Hi White American. Happy New Year. You're right but it's all relative. If they legalize 10 million voters naturally the Republicans will pick up 20% of them or 2 million votes. On the other hand, Democrats will pick up 80% or 8 million votes. So even though the Republicans are adding 2 million votes they are still losing the overall spread by 6 million votes. Only idiots ( Boehner, Ryan, etc.) would take that kind of deal.

Simple solution: Enforce the rules on the books.

A person has legal persmission to be in the US or they dont

Those who dont should be repatriated to their homeland. Especailly those with hostile and destructive histories. Its time to stop rewarding criminals with alll the riches our country has to offer

Equality for all. Special privileges for nobody. Spin it however you want

NOBODY*

*That includes your family members living in the US illegally

You may be right if you agree on this Republicans wins the majority in Senate in Nov, with control of both Senate and House they will pass immigration reform with path way to citizenship before 2016 to take the White House as well and they will with Jed at the helm.

Thank you.

No pro immigrant poster wants to consider this alternative.

They look at America like America belongs to them. I see this every day here in town. That bellgerent tone in their voices at the gasoline station

Poster White American has stated on other threads that she has family members who are here illegally. She wants "special privileges" for them. Thats understandable to me

BUT

the future of our nation is at stake and I say specail privileges for nobody - especailly uninvited gatecrashers

I would say this the republicans will take the house back for sure in nov.i dont know if bush is running and if he is I dont know if he will win.but anyway to answear you.I think that the republicans are trying to do something now! But obama is going to stop it by pushing citizenship.if you came illegal and we know nothing about you why give citizenship.I think they want people to work at it.I think if obama does not take it now.it will be lost.I think bush would be for it.so it would have to start all over.maybe they will come up with something else.but the borders need to be closed.we dont want this again and again.

I hear you and agree 100000%.they are here illegaly and demand.why should we not have the right to ask questions, do background checks or whatever we need to do.why cant we, because they have something to hide.then we dont want them.only fair not racist.look how a lot of them act.on an other note I know white american, I dont waste my time responding to her.really.I think she has issues.dont care to listen thank you keep up the good work american friend.close our borders and americans first.
