American values are about caring for others, making the right decisions in your own lives and wanting our country to move forward.

Oooooops I guess those values are the democratic values.

That's a nice fairy tale.

IF Americans cared for others, they could rely on the good will of families in their communities to help out when difficult times come by.(instead of depending on the government assistance)

IF Americans made the right decisions in their lives, there wouldn't be so much crime and violence; people would be SAVING money for their future, rather than living for the moment with massive credit debt.; there wouldn't be so many single parent households; there wouldn't be so many high school drop outs.(just to name a few)

IF Americans want their country to move forward, they wouldn't be a drain on their government by EXPECTING the government to provide for them.

Times have changed. The VISION remains the same, but the REALITY has become so much different.

I agree with you to a certain extent, however the government cannot function without taxing those people that your talking about.
I don't believe all people choose to be on government assistance. Some of those people who are on welfare have jobs, the reality is wages aren't providing them enough to be self sufficient.

... thank God we took this country away from idiots like you; you don't deserve to be here in this great country... if I had my way I will personally come and kick you the Hell out of this country. You are a disgrace; a disgusting POS. Lucky for me, we the people came out in great numbers and elected President Obama, and I cannot wait until we amnesty those immigrants who deserve to be here more than a fool like you.

The middle class helps subsidize the government, but not by that much.

It is the rich folks who subsidize the government the most.

Still, the wealthy are paying more taxes on a federal level simply because they are making so much more money. The top 10% of taxpayers take home 45% of the nation's income, according to Citizens for Tax Justice. Moreover, they seem to be getting richer all the time.
"The vast majority of income gains have gone to the people at the top," he said.

it is alright that illegal immigrants are Criminals, But better Not be UNITED STATES CITIZENS who might be protecting themselves or the Country.
As we head into yet another year wondering whether Washington, meaning President Obama and both political parties, will finally betray the nation and pass some form of illegal-immigrant amnesty, "Machiavelli" at the Virtuous Republic blog reminds us that the argument is about more than depressed wages, "keeping families together," and (in the misguided minds of Catholic bishops) Christian charity.
Machiavelli went to Immigration and Customs Enforcement records for 2013 and found the following crime-related information the establishment press is extremely reluctant to acknowledge at its main page for removal statistics (bolds are mine throughout this post):
In FY 2013:
- ICE conducted a total of 368,644 removals.
- ICE conducted 133,551 removals of individuals apprehended in the interior of the U.S.
--- 82 percent of all interior removals had been previously convicted of a crime.
- ICE conducted 235,093 removals of individuals apprehended along our borders while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S.
- 59 percent of all ICE removals, a total of 216,810, had been previously convicted of a crime.
--- ICE apprehended and removed 110,115 criminals removed from the interior of the U.S.
--- ICE removed 106,695 criminals apprehended at the border while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S.
- 98 percent of all ICE FY 2013 removals, a total of 360,313, met one or more of ICE's stated civil immigration enforcement priorities.
- Of the 151,834 removals of individuals without a criminal conviction, 84 percent, or 128,398, were apprehended at the border while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. and 95 percent fell within one of ICE's stated immigration enforcement priorities.
I would additionally argue that it should be intuitively obvious to anyone, even the relatively uneducated, that if you have to sneak into a country to gain access, you're committing a criminal act (and you legally are).
Machiavelli, who presents a great deal of detailed information about the degrees of criminality found in those who were removed, writes:
What do these numbers say about the alien population that does make it across the border?
Well, certainly, it should put to rest the idea that only hard working, honest people are illegally entering our nation. Instead, our politicians have unleashed a horde of criminals on us. Illegal immigration not only depresses wages, but ruins the quality of life in the United States by allowing unfit and dangerous people in our nation. Amnesty, I fear will just attract more criminals, looking for new opportunities.
Of course it will, but that point never seems to come up with the Chamber of Commerce types, congresspersons, administration officials, and press apparatchiks who are pushing mightily for what promises, for all of its alleged but already dubious merits, to bring on the mother of all crime waves.
.
Have someone explain your posted stats to you.

But, blaming the people who are Taxed Enough Already for not wanting to patriotically pay MORE, sadly indicates that socialism has become the accepted patriotic norm.
Actuall the G Bush TARP legislation, nationalizing Industries in 2008 indicated a shift to socialism.

That has to do with the top 10% receiving 60% of all the earned income in the nation.

The problem is not that the militias complicate the situation, They don't! The problem is that the militias actually simplify the situation. The problem is that the government doesn't like the simplification. They like things complicated! The devil is always in the details!

Is that what American values are? Funny, I thought American values were independence, self reliance, prosperity, and such, The trouble with your "American values" is that unscrupulous politicians can use them to twist your arms into giving them more money. And just what is meant by "Move forward"? Into what? Some mythical la la land that can never exist? Don't make me laugh! You are giving up half your paycheck, "caring" for others. when actually they should be caring for them selves. Wake up! Unless it soothes some particular psychic ache in you, forget that totally unworkable crap and get real.
My president was elected by dead people!
