This is not a problem unique to the American Southwest, but now affects public lands across the entire nation, and the smugglers are becoming increasingly more destructive.

In August 2009, investigators determined that the wildfire known as the La Brea Fire, in the Los Padres National Forest, which began on August 8, was actually started by a cooking fire being used by Mexican marijuana growers.

The Santa Barbara County sheriff's office and the U.S. Forest Service held a joint press conference and stated that the raging wildfire was touched off by a "cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation ... believed to be run by a Mexican national drug organization."

At the time, U.S. Forest Service spokesman Jim Turner said: "The suspects are still at large. We've closed the area to the public ... so if anyone is likely to encounter them, it would be the firefighters, and of course those people have all been alerted and are on the watch."

The fire destroyed more than 130 square miles of forest and forced more than 2,000 residents from their homes.

While the La Brea Fire may have represented the first time that the mainstream press reported on a fire which was set by illegal alien drug traffickers, this incident is only the latest and perhaps most costly fire. However, arson has actually become a favorite tactic used by those who now regularly invade this country.

In May 2007, in Arizona, Border Patrol Agents chased five illegals back across the Mexican border. Once on the other side, the five began pegging the agents and their vehicles with rocks. The agents moved back and continued to observe, then a Molotov cocktail was hurled at the agents. It hit the ground and missed the Border Patrol vehicles. The agents then contacted the Mexican military for assistance.

As usual, that help never came.

About an hour later, an agent noticed a fire burning in a nearby wheat field. The San Luis Fire Department responded and fortunately the only property damaged in the extremely dry area was the field itself. A total of five fires were set that night by illegal aliens. The fires surrounded a Border Patrol observation post and were an attempt to burn the agents out. No agents were injured in the multiple blazes and none of the illegals were apprehended.

The border area has become so dangerous due to Mexican drug smugglers and illegal aliens crossing into this country, that in 2007, firefighters battling wildfires in the Coronado National Forest had to be accompanied by police officers.
For several years, the U.S. Forest Service has reported numerous accounts of encounters with heavily armed drug dealers approaching firefighters.

On August 9, 2002, U.S. Park Ranger Kris Eggle, 27 was killed by Mexican drug dealers while on duty in Arizona's Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument Park. Ranger Eggle was attempting to apprehend two drug dealers, after being notified by Mexican authorities that the two had crossed the border and were headed into the park.

One of the drug dealers opened fire on Ranger Eggle with an AK-47. Eggle died before a medivac helicopter arrived on the scene. Mexican police officers shot and killed Eggle's murderer.
U.S. Park Ranger Eggle left behind his grieving parents and his sister (also a U.S. Park Ranger).

In 1905 President Theodore Roosevelt started the National Parks system, setting aside 194 millions of acres of pristine wilderness by the end of his presidency, so that all Americans could enjoy nature’s beauty and peaceful tranquility. He brought these unspoiled lands under federal protection so that they would remain that way forever.

I would venture to say that never could TR could have imagined the day when American families could no longer venture into those parks because an invading army of criminals now use them for their own enterprises. Nor could he have ever imagined a day when his own government, sworn to protect those public lands, would sit by and allow such an atrocity.

In a speech in Osawatomie, Kansas on August 31, 1910, Roosevelt stated:“I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the nature resources of our land; but I do not recognize the right to waste the, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us.”
Unfortunately, we are all being robbed as our national parks become nothing more than marijuana farms, occupied by illegal aliens carrying automatic weapons and trashing once unspoiled national treasures.

What use is a government which chooses not to defend its land and people?

Obama and Friends Are Giving the USA Away, Piece by Piece

By Jerry McConnell
June 17, 2010

So now we see how Obama and Calderon are going to carry out their deal to give all or a great part of the United States to Mexico. The actions of Obama’s forces in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service now claim that the land along the Arizona border with Mexico was closed in October 2006.

That’s news to me; I wonder why it took nearly FOUR years for it to get published for public consumption? That was what FoxNews.com reported online on June 16, 2010, only four months shy of four years since the government says it was officially closed. And to make it more ironic, they refer to the area as “Parkland”; can you believe it?

If they have officially closed this 3,500 acre area of prime land covering some 80 miles along the border, including parts of a national wildlife refuge, due to, as they say “human safety concerns,” why are we only hearing about it now? Or is this the preliminary statements to eventually pin the blame on the Bush Administration as Obama does with everything that goes wrong?

Get over it, Barry, at some point you are going to have to admit that you are and have been a total failure for the American people. I also realize that you are most likely being praised by your real leaders, those New World’ers who have financed your entire adult life and made you their figure-head for their plans to totally ruin the infrastructure and finances of this country for a bloodless coup takeover.

But I firmly believe that you and your leaders will not get away with it. Somehow, the true American spirit will surge forth and stop all the takeovers and depose you and expose those shadows behind you.

It is ironic that just days after your meetings with Calderon and his insulting to United States citizens rhetoric and lies that he spewed to a fawning and traitorous Congress who actually gave him a standing ovation when they should have thrown him and you out on your backsides, we get this notice that the border area is closed.

Again: If it was closed in 2006, why are we just hearing about it now?

What is the next bit of news from the southwest corner of what was just recently the United States? Will they give up the corridors the illegal aliens use to break our laws crossing into this country to rob, destroy, pillage, injure and yes, even MURDER American citizens?

Mexican Drug Cartels Control Parts of Arizona

by Roger Hedgecock
06/18/2010

The United States is ceding parts of Arizona to the Mexican drug cartels. So says Pinal County (Ariz.) Sheriff Paul Babeu.

In a press conference ignored by the American national media, the sheriff described how his deputies were outmanned and outgunned by the cartel smugglers who increasingly operate using military tactics and weapons. The result, said Sheriff Babeu, was that a wide corridor of Arizona from the border North to the outskirts of Phoenix is effectively controlled by the cartels. "We do not have control of this area," the sheriff said.

At the same time as the sheriff's ignored press conference, the national media did cover assurances from the Obama Administration that crime was down at the border; that the border had never been safer. This ludicrous propaganda was based on selected crime stats from San Diego, Phoenix, Austin and San Antonio. The new reign of terror on the border in Arizona was airbrushed out of the picture.

Here's the real picture Obama does not want you to see. Warning signs were posted this past month by the federal government 80 miles North of the border on the South side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend urging U.S. citizens not to camp or hike in the "Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area" because "Visitors May Encounter Armed Criminals." Here is a picture of one of those signs:

EXCLUSIVE: Arizona's Closed Federal Parkland is a No-Man's Land

By Joshua Rhett Miller

FoxNews

BUENOS AIRES NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, Arizona – The number of illegal immigrants and drug smugglers crossing through this magnificent national parkland in southern Arizona has "decreased significantly" in the last four years, park officials say.

But there's a dark cloud to this silver lining: To make it happen, the refuge had to close a sliver of this slice of heaven to the quarter-billion American taxpayers who own it -- essentially creating a no-man's-land on which only drug smugglers, gun-runners, human traffickers and the Border Patrol agents who track them down dare to tread.

And with rival Mexican drug gangs gunning each other down less than 50 miles away, the chance that the closed portion of the wildlife refuge will reopen in the foreseeable future appears to be between slim and none. For the time being, officials say, this public land will be closed to the public.

In 2006, the refuge manager at the time, Mitch Ellis, saw that the smugglers and drug-runners were winning, and his solution was to close 3,500 acres of this 118,000-acre natural habitat. He cited increased violence in the area due to “border-related” activities, including assaults on law enforcement officers and migrants, as the reason for the closure.

Back then, says Sally Gall, the park's acting refuge manager, it was estimated that as many as 4,000 people a day were crossing illegally into the U.S. from Mexico, tramping across public land that's home to nearly 330 species of animals and hosts up to 40,000 visitors annually.
