Think about it, Jaxx, the average worker (illegal) is maybe in his/her early 30's. After the prerequisite 13 years, they can get free social services (in their own names, not just for their kids) and collect social security and if it's still around, obamacare. They will never pay in enough to cover what they will take out. Hence, it comes out of the taxpayers' pockets. There will never be any safeguards to prevent this from happening again, because it is inevitable that the border will never be secure, and more will sneak in and undcercut those who "qualified" for the latest amnesty. The cycle will just continue on. These fools just can't figure their way out of a paper sack. I wish that I wasn't so pessimistic, but it is what it has always been, a bad idea.<quoted text>
Hey Teddy4me, it has been a while.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean about it coming out of the taxpayers pocket.
From what I understand the proposed reforms would require anyone that gets adjusted status to work, pay taxes and they wouldn't be eligible for federal benefits.
Am I wrong about that?
The two big sticking points for me are the path to citizenship,(I've never liked that idea) and border security.
With even the chance for citizenship at least ten years down the road that makes border security and other measures to prevent the next wave of illegal immigration top priority when it comes to these reforms.
For better or worse I think these reforms are going to happen and I would like to see them include clear measures to prevent us from getting in this mess again.

Are these guys "BIGOTS"? Exclusive: The Truth About 'La Raza' Quote: "Behind the respectable front of the National Council of La Raza lies the real agenda of the La Raza movement, the agenda that led to those thousands of illegal immigrants in the streets of American cities, waving Mexican flags, brazenly defying our laws, and demanding concessions. Key among the secondary organizations is the radical racist group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West. One of America's greatest strengths has always been taking in immigrants from cultures around the world, and assimilating them into our country as Americans. By being citizens of the U.S. we are Americans first, and only, in our national loyalties. This is totally opposed by MEChA for the hordes of illegal immigrants pouring across our borders, to whom they say: "Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the notion that we...should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting pot...Aztlan was the legendary homeland of the Aztecas ... It became synonymous with the vast territories of the Southwest, brutally stolen from a Mexican people marginalized and betrayed by the hostile custodians of the Manifest Destiny." (Statement on University of Oregon MEChA Website, Jan. 3, 2006) MEChA isn't at all shy about their goals, or their views of other races. Their founding principles are contained in these words in "El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan" (The Spiritual Plan for Aztlan): "In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal gringo invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.... Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans.... We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan. For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada." That closing two-sentence motto is chilling to everyone who values equal rights for all. It says: "For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing." http://www.humanevents.com/article.php... La Raza [THE RACE] rally at Chicano Park |

L.A. County welfare to children of illegal immigrants grows By Teresa Watanabe, Los Angeles Times September 5, 2010 Welfare payments to children of illegal immigrants in Los Angeles County increased in July to $52 million, prompting renewed calls from one county supervisor to rein in public benefits to such families. The payments, made to illegal immigrants for their U.S. citizen children, included $30 million in food stamps and $22 million from the CalWorks welfare program, according to county figures released Friday by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. The new figure represents an increase of $3.7 million from July 2009 and makes up 23% of all county welfare and food stamp assistance, according to county records. Where is the outrage about how this will affect the poor who are long-term, taxpaying American citizens? Apparently, they don't have anyone to stand up for their rights. Last year, welfare and food stamp issuances totaled nearly $570 million, and the amount is projected to exceed $600 million this year. More than a half a billion dollars - for one county? Whatever happened to the claim that these new 'immigrants' are amazingly hardworking people who would never avail themselves of social welfare benefits? In addition, county taxpayers spend $550 million in public safety - mostly for jail costs - ******and nearly $500 million for healthcare for illegal immigrants, Antonovich said.****** Again, one county spends more than a half a billion dollars a year just to lock up illegal aliens? Whatever happened to the claim that newly arrived immigrants and their families tend to be far more law-abiding than the average American? Meanwhile, we are told that the federal government doesn't have the resources to deport them. "The supervisor is very concerned," said Antonovich spokesman Tony Bell. "He believes we have an economic catastrophe on our hands." . And yet we are constantly told by the Democrats and their media that illegal immigration is a positive boon to our economy. If so, let's hope more illegal aliens make their way to Los Angeles Country, before they have to declare bankruptcy. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/la-co-spen... |

Allow me to correct and enhance your faulty understanding of American history. A better example would be Americans revolted against oppression, built a great nation, established laws, guaranteed rights for its citizens and fought wars to keep the country free. Later, a swarm of diseased, ignorant, violent, vulgar, vile lowlife illegal aliens, mostly Mexicans and Central Americans, entered this beautiful house LIKE THE ROACHES THEY ARE to live off our crumbs and demand, demand, demand rights to which they are not entitled. However, this country has had enough of you leeches. Your days in the US are numbered. You might as well start crying and moaning. I am so looking forward to the videos of families being torn apart and put on buses by men in black uniforms carrying automatic weapons. |

Ihave lived through many presidencies. I trusted all of them...even when I disagreed with them I could still understand their side of the issue. They were all dignified and proud and patriotic. I felt safe. Today we have a man that bullies us, bullies congress, threatens our elderly that they won't get their checks if he doesn't get what he wants, lies, thrusts us further and further into debt, aids our enemies, makes 11 million criminals legal, has done nothing to improve our economy or build jobs, does nothing to help our Veterans (helps Illegals more than our very own veterans) etc etc........but he has probably improved his golf score dramatically, and he spends so much time in Vegas I have to wonder if he has a gambling problem! His phony wife preaches health but hubby smokes....can you say hypocrite? They spend more money than this country can afford and have no qualms about spending more than the Queen of England on their extravagances. And I surely no longer feel safe since this man sees fit to arm the muslim brotherhood. You deserve his attention if you are black, hispanic, illegal, in a union, gay, on welfare, or need abortions because you're too stupid to use birth control and running our healthcare system in the ground!!! So where does that leave the working class taxpayer? Up the creek! And there is no paddle until we get strong enough to kick this fraud to the curb!

First of all there is illegal people doing other people's jobs that they don't wanna do them, people who works hard and they are not waiting for the government to give them help or welfare, in this instance the imigrants have to pay, of course for been here illegally, but they are gonna generate more jobs, imagine this the imigrants once becoming legal, they are gonna want to go see their families and spend money to travel, so the airlines business are gonna grow, the automotive industry is gonna be demanded, because in some states there is not enough transportation, public, so they obviously buy cara or pay taxis, see it this way I know in my own experience working in a restaurant you don't see white people washing dishes, or cooking or prepping , you don't see African-Americans doing that either, let focus on how would that work and see how the impact is more positive than negative, of course it takes time but u can see results,

Ok about tax refound the federal goverment says if you have an I.T.I.N number your are not allowed to request child tax credit, so you are wrong on that, second some of the states don't allowed imigrant with that number to claim their state taxes, so what are those states doing with all that money some people working hard and not requesting welfare have rights on their state taxes, is over $2000.00 some times and some times is less , so just think about it at least is 500,000 by state, do the math? But if they have to pay those taxes of course thy found them taking their money off their federal refound, or they just pay because they want to be in this country, third imigrants are from everywhere and even those who said that are Americans, they came to this country hundred years ago, look at ur family history, forth America is a continent not just a country, NORTHAMERICANS

Here we should explain that the IRS routinely seeks to collect both federal income taxes and federal payroll taxes from illegal immigrants, who are required to pay regardless of their immigration status. Because such workers don’t qualify for a valid Social Security number, the IRS issues a nine-digit Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. An ITIN doesn’t authorize the user to work legally in the U.S., and doesn’t entitle him or her to Social Security benefits. But in addition to collecting taxes, the IRS has increasingly been making payments to low-income workers who pay no federal income tax but qualify for “refundable” credits. Generally, illegal immigrants don’t qualify for Social Security, Medicare or other federal benefits, except for emergency medical treatment in hospitals. And since passage of the 1996 welfare reform law, they have been ineligible for the refundable portion of the Earned Income Tax Credit as well. http://factcheck.org/2012/05/tax-credits-for-... Per your "forth" point, the USA is a sovereign country. Look up the meaning of that. |
