That means gun control and thousands of people will not be murdered by the sicko republicans with guns.
That means lower taxes on people who work, and higher taxes on the lazy rich. That means schools get funded and higher education is free, as long as you complete the coursework. That means no more subsidizes to ship our jobs overseas. That means no more so called free trade zones where our rights are stripped away. That means repeal of the Pat Act. That means the criminality of the bush administration will be properly investigated. That means the lobbyists will be given the boot.
Those are the ones off the top of my head, and I am very happy to hear they have finally been enacted.
Oh wait, since you are a republican, I better have some verification for this? Where is the link?
Interesting. Most Americans agreed with you last November when they said their families should submit to being nothing more than listless slaves to Big Brother. And, as far as the incompetence goes, Big Brother is always incompetent.
There is no incentive to bring your best to your job when you work for the Govt or are under Union protection. Sloth is plenty good enough cause positive out comes don't matter.

Of course, the Bill is crammed with every Progressive Utopian freebie they could think of no matter who much it costs or who gets hurt by their astonishing overreach. Absolute Power corrupts. Absolute Power is an aphrodisiac to the Orwellian Progressives.
You are 100% correct. These pigs want total control of the American people. What they don't realize is that the real Americans will never allow that to happen.

Are you listening now, when the crap has hit your fan? Who will you blame now, when you have already showed you are simply fools...We have no perfect people on this earth and we don't put
leaders on a throne and worship them. Have you
noticed. Keep up your foolish talk and try to
make others look like fools, look into your own soul, if you have one. Stop trying to hurt all
those that tried to tell you.....Go see Obama Dr.;

You misunderstand. I am NOT a republican. I oppose the slavery the GOP is forcing on the populace. When you allow republicans into the government, it guarantees the government will be incompetent. So let's agree to remove all republicans from government jobs, and then start on the democrats.

Obamacare is being crushed under it's own weight. There is no way it can survive without healthy young people signing up, and they don't want it. They won't pa the fines either, so what to do. There is not enough jails to jail them. It is a disaster.

The slavery is coming from the Obamacare law. It is a good thing it is imploding. Jay Carney looked like he was going to vomit when he had to report, once again, that the Obamacare problem was worse then we knew, and probably can't be fixed.

What slavery do repubs place on the populace? Expecting citizens to work for their living rather than collect money for nothing and their checks for free?????????? Bloody hell, who do you think pay the majority of the taxes in this country, not the 47%ers.

Slavery? It isn't fair to Blacks to compare their Anti Bellum experience as Slaves with Californians'.
Californians VOTED to enslave the Public to the Public Employee Unions never ending demands for more and more and more of everyone else's hard earned money.
Blacks didn't Vote to make slaves of their kids....Californians did when they elected UnionCrats.

Indeed. It appears as though liberal dems aren't against slavery after all, they have just altered the criteria. Now you must be a working class stiff to carry the burdensome yoke of gubmental oppression.

Other people in the world pay less because their country is the size of state: like Cuba. Other people pay less because they have little or no choice: it's clinic style/production line medicine with limited treatment options and waits.

The "rich" got their money because they were lazy? How many trust fund babies are out there exactly.

There are a lot of laws and regulations that favor many groups but they can be changed just as easily using the same system that put them in. You don't need universal health care and higher taxes on anyone to change/fix that.

Other people pay less for medical care because they don't have insurance companies and medical companies buying politicians and lobbyists to rewrite the laws in the corporation's favor. We are paying more simply because our system is designed to extract as much wealth as possible from the public. To maximize profit is the primary goal of every corporations. That goal is even canonized into law by those same lobbyists. The thing that limits our options is the system designed to give as few choices as possible for the maximum profit. That is why the US has such poor results from paying the most in the world.

The rich can't make their money from working. For example, let's say a person is working making widgets. He makes 100 per hour and gets 10 cents for each one. That gives him $10 per hour. This would not be untypical. Now consider how many widgets a rich person has to make in an hour to get $1,000,000 per hour. Do you really think that he can make 10,000,000 per hour all day long? Of course you realize the rich don't get their money from working, they get it from others.

Can the laws be changed so they don't favor the rich?? Well the system is setup so that the rich can buy any laws they want. So anybody who is rich can use the system to change the laws. But someone not rich doesn't have the money to use the system, thus no changes.

You don't need higher taxes to pay for those who can't afford medical care if we have universal single payer. Taxes could drop if the GOP doesn't decide they have to pay the rich even more. Besides, universal single payer would improve the health of most Americans.

So you think the 47% from whom the GOP has stolen everything should not complain about being robbed. Maybe you are correct. When someone robs a bank, we should complain about the bank not having any money. Maybe after being robbed, we should place a high tax on banks forcing them to pay even more.

So who does pay the majority of the taxes? not the rich, that is why they are rich, they don't have to pay for anything. That is why they are rich. They get the government to buy everything for them. Those who still have jobs working for their living are the ones who pay taxes. Those in the GOP created poverty cannot because everything is already gone, including the opportunity to work.

So when someone has to work 16 hours and day and still doesn't get enough for food, shelter and health care, I suggest they are not getting enough of the fruit of their own labor. Perhaps it is unfair to compare that with slavery, but it does make a point. But when you combine that with the Pat Act, the GOP wrote, pushed through congress and signed by bush, to remove every single one of our rights, and you have no rights whatsoever, then it is not such an unfair comparison. Of course I do not let the democrats off the hook, for not opposing this with all their might, but it is much worse as they extended it.

These do nothing people who are being paid to sit around doing not much of anything even if they have little jobs, don't know what being a slave really is, and they look stupid when they pretend they are slaves to the rich. There is not one reason why they couldn't better their lot in life if they had chosen education over their lazy existence. But they don't worry. Someone will work, and give them enough money for booze, and cigarettes, and what else is there? This is the life they chose.

Truth time, what has Obama told you that has not
turned out to be a lie? To thine own self be
true. Lying to yourself does good for who?
Our country can not even depend on you. You
do not live in this country alone, you can not
make it on your own, so think of someone else besides
the liar and chief. "Just what good has he done
these last five years for country and fellow man"?
Who is he for, whats his goals for this country?
Campaigning 20 days in this month instead staying
home and at least making people think he cares about the people. Pelosi and Reed have to get reelected so he can continue his plan to turn us
over to another country? Who could have thought our own people would turn against our own country? When we have lost it all, how will you survive? I don't want to hear the crying and nashing
of teeth from any who is too stupid to know what
has been happening just because you are a demo. Hows
your health-care working for you? Been sick since you have got on HIS web site? I wish for you the same as the rest of this country. Crying
time, sick, need help????/Ha "Got money" Ha

Um, the "rich" guy is the one who pays the widget maker. There is no way that a frontline factory or employee in ANY business should be making as much as the owner operator of the business. If want control or that high a percentage of the income you need to be running your own business or as a contractor and not an hourly or salaried employee. You can negotiate any salary you want. You can have anyone represent you but in the end market determines what one will make.
The market is rigged in third world countries that don't even understand 'the market' but it's up to the market including customers to punish and/or publicize companies that do that. Which has been done. As many people that are complaining now were at a bar watching sports not giving two hoots about the plant closing and shipping jobs out since they were still employed. There are windows of opportunity. If you think there are abuses you can turn businesses into organizations like OSHA or the Dept of Labor-you know how many bitch & moan but won't report illegal stuff to authorities or unethical behavior to management. I know people who don't even report on the job injuries and burden the private insurance industry with their claim. You can ask customers to boycott. You can expose them for their practices. This is done over time and not because Occupy Wall Street all the sudden wants changes-by the way many of their issues, tactics and rhetoric was used by unions in the 1980s and 1990s falling on self absorbed deaf ears.
You have to make and keep money. Making smart investments IS making money. I think too many think of money as a pile that all you have to do is take a bucket and shovel to.
When was the last time you looked at and/or made changes to your 401k or IRA. When was the last time YOUR retirement choices made money or significant increases. Have you sold a house at a profit? Better yet when was the last time you tried starting and running a business. Active capitalism is work & risk and more work for most. Can you even do your own taxes or do you delegate to H & R Block like a business person might hire an accountant? Money doesn't grow on trees. It is up to YOU to LEGALLY get it. Just as it up to the individual to report and fight abuses which include risk to their job and money stream. The masses will not do that yet anyway.

I will allow that the owner can make more than those doing the work. However, if the owner wants so much money that he is unwilling to pay his workers enough so they can afford food and shelter, than that company should be shut down. When you say that if you want a certain amount of money, then you should own your own company, not have a job. That says there is very little opportunity.
I have been working full time on starting many businesses over the past decade. The biggest problem is getting sufficient funding to actually be successful. The investors have a vested interest in putting in the bare minimum and taking the maximum from the company. If you are starved, you become more desperate and they can then take whatever is left. I have seen hundreds of outstanding business plans not get funded.
As to fraud at companies being reportable? Who can you report it to when the fraud is in cooperation with government funding. Small companies certainly are subject to the law, but big companies? rarely if ever. Even the recent fines of 16 billion dollars is a gift after they stole hundreds of billions. Let me rob a bank and keep 90% of the money. Those who are afraid to even report injuries probably realize that if they report, they will be fired. The government is effectively owned by the rich and large corporations.
I got out of the stock market years ago, when it became obvious to me that it is rigged against small investors. It is just a scam to steal your money. When did my retirement plan make money? Never in 50 years. Of course that is one reason I got out of the stock market.
Money doesn't grow on trees, but it takes money to make money. If you don't have any, you can't get any. Starting your own business, they almost always fail, for the same reason, insufficient funding.
As to having a capitalist system, you should read about the effects of no regulation on a capitalist system. Unless they are regulated, the corporations work together to obtain total control over the market and then raise prices. Add to that the ability to hire lobbyists who can write the laws to regulate start-ups out of existence so they never have competition.
You claim windows of opportunity, but I never see them. People say they exist, but when you try to actually find that opportunity it is gone. I have talked with a great many people saying that if you had a good business plan you can get funded. Not a single one could follow through when shown a great business plan. So, if you think you know of one; what is it?

I don't blame them. This government is already screwing them by saddling them with our national debt and now they want them to pay for the healthcare of those from the generation that is passing that debt down. No matter what our politicians say about our useless youth, they aren't so stupid to fall for this nonsense.
