Democrats: No scandal in Benghazi deaths

May 9, 2013 Full story: WOI-TV West Des Moines 41

A major independent inquiry largely absolved Clinton of wrongdoing.

The findings incensed many Republican leaders and conservative news outlets, who portray Benghazi as a simmering scandal about to erupt.

The three officials testifying Wednesday offered little that has not been aired in previous congressional hearings. Afterward, Republicans all but acknowledged they're still seeking a knockout punch.

"This hearing is now over, but this investigation is not," said Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the hard-charging Republican chairman of the House committee. He urged "whistle-blowers" and "witnesses who have been afraid to come forward" to step up and "tell us your story, and we will make sure it gets public."

Anytime, anywhere else, the murder of diplomatic personnel would be considered an act of war. But we've got Hillary pooh poohing it as though it was nothing. There's something serious behind all of this covering up!

Think 2016. Think 2016. Think 2016.
.
Think the first Black President must ***always*** look good. Think Hillary running in 2016.
.
There is no way the major media is going to darken Hillary's chances, so the story will always be no story or hey, it was just a small screw up.

In all my life I have never seen an administration that had the backing of the entire media like Obama has. In fact I have never seen an administration that had had such a blind following in their own party.
The fact remains that nothing was done to protect the lives of those in our embassy. An attack on an embassy is an act of war and this administrationís refusal/failure to protect our embassy and to react in a manor appropriate to an attack on the sovereignty of our nation shows the lack of concern for our country and its people. To be more concerned with the possibility of offending a host nation that also failed to protect our embassy from such an attack than for the lives of those in our embassy it reprehensible. The only thing worse is the cover up or attempted cover up that followed.

You can thank the Bush administration for the embassy not being able to adequately defend itself. Up until the Lil Bush, embassies were guarded by either armed marines or special forces. Lil Bush changed this policy and used local unarmed militia (really just rent-a-cops) for the sake of privatization. They probably ran off as soon as the attack started.

Member there were 13 embassy attacks during the George W Bush administration resulting in 98 deaths. I don't recall any investigations into those.

In context, Big George had over 30 embassy attacks on his single term presidency, compare that to about 5 under Obama's 6 yrs.

Bush has not been president for 5 years. I though Obama promised change so why when change in security was requested why were changes not made?. Also the issue is not only the level of security which obviously was insufficient but the lack of response during the attack and the response/cover up attempt after. When Truman was president he had a sign on his desk saying "The Buck Stops Here". Obama has one that says "What buck?"

Mother jones is your source?? RFLMAO

Mother Jones is a socialistic rag, and Corn has never met a lie he wouldn't tell!

They have fabricated more stories than Agatha Christie.

No Americans were killed in these attacks during Bush's terms at these embabssies, civilians around the buildings, Bush made sure they all had adequate security inside, dummy.

Imagine if your will.........So, a just-released report details a Bush administration cover-up after an ambassador and three other Americans were killed by Al Qaeda-affiliated terrorists. Secretary of State Condi Rice came up with a story to blame a video maker for the riot that led to the deaths, except there was no riot. In fact, Vice President Cheney was in the Situation Room with President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld as the whole scene unfolded, conning Ambassador John Bolton into going on those Sunday shows.

Meanwhile, Senators Clinton, Obama and Kerry all demand to know why Bush chose to blame our First Amendment when he knew all along the video didn't cause the attack?

Meanwhile, Newsweek and similar drugstore brochures demand special prosecutors and resignations.

The HBO film directed by Sean Penn called "blood on your hands" wins an Emmy.

The musical "Bullets Over Benghazi" garners a Tony.

The 50,000-word poem by James Franco, though awful, wins a Pulitzer.

The whole thing is bigger than Watergate, Watergate and Watergate combined.

You left screwballs are fkn hilarious.

"Move along! Nothing to see here. It's just a minor issue. Who cares how they died? Why do you insist on knowing who did what? You insistence on knowing the facts is just partisan politics. Let's put this behind us."

Yep, that's the Democrats, lead by Obama, running the "most open" presidency in history.

BS. Only Obama knew the EXACT DATE on which to expect an attack: 9/11 !!! What kind of moron is asleep on that date?(Hello? Anyone home in ObamaZombie land?)

How nice that you are desperate to try and make your pathetically weak leader look like he has a pair. The problem? HE DOESN'T!(Hillary might, but she gave them up to Obama for his support in 2016.)

Your guy is a loser. Blaming it on Bush after being in power for nearly four years is the kind of weak, transparent excuse we've come to expect from Obama. He's an amateur.

What would do without Bush to blame? Why didn't Obama immediately recognixe what was wrong with this a correct it? Could it be he's just incompetent?
