Uniform State/Federal Identification card

Employment is the single greatest incentive for illegal immigration to the U.S.
If documentation requirements for employment were more easily administered by employers and immigration officials, not only would the incentive for illegal immigration be reduced and border security enhanced, but also reduced would be the loss of wages and jobs going to undocumented workers, and the loss of tax revenues going to the Social Security and unemployment insurance programs.
Creating a uniform, single identification (ID) card with individual state managed information (including driver license) on one side and federal managed information on the other side would make it far easier for employers and immigration officials to validate an employee's address and right to work in the U.S.
The federal/state ID card would not replace requirements for a Social Security (SS) card that employers would still need and use to pay employee SS contributions (the SS card would remain confidential).
