Why are you living in the USA and not in your own country trying to make it a better place? You can brag all you want, if what you write is true at all, but running from the problems in your country makes you pretty much of a coward, doesn't it? Or an opportunist without conscience. That you can criticize ANY US citizen is pretty arrogant for someone who will not even live in her own country, but wants to live here for her own reasons without investing in the USA. And, I might add that your self-claimed high intelligence appears to be an anomaly among your countrymen, or, at least, puts you in a very small minority in Mexico. I say this from experience and observation.Let me tell you a little about myself:
I am a woman. A Mexican woman....who can read.....and who does not clean houses for a living.(Gasp!)
I speak 4 languages.....quite well, including English, which is just another language to me (in other words, it is not the center of my universe).
I have 3 university degrees and I am working on my 4th.
I CHOOSE to speak my beautiful, impeccable Spanish often, because it is the language of my extremely beautiful and rich culture and my kind, wonderful people.
When I speak English, it is because I want to, or because I feel bad for the majority of Americans who cannot even speak English correctly. Therefore, I speak impeccable English so that I can communicate with them, using words that are often a bit too high-register for them.(You probably don't know what "high-register" language is. My advice, for this sad lack of knowledge: Google is your friend....perhaps you will actually learn something today. I challenge you.)
I am light skinned and have a blonde, blue-eyed mother (no, this does not make me "Spanish"...I am, happily, "Mexican"). My family and I did not decide to stay in Mexico. We decided many years ago to live in the U.S......just as we could have decided to live anywhere else.
I respect this country and respect some aspects of America's "culture", yet despise others.
I believe that there are many good Americans, but I also believe that are are many sad, irresponsible, UN-cultured, UN-educated 'merkans who make this country a world-wide laughing stock (just ask any European). I find many of you who are posting here prime examples of these people we, the rest of the world call "ugly americans".
I lived in Europe for several years and learned yet another language.
No, I am not filthy rich. No my family is not in the drug trade business. Rather, my parents raised me to be an educated, strong woman who believes that she deserves a lot. A woman who opens her eyes and heart to the world. A woman who does not settle for only knowing America, which happens to be just a tiny grain of sand in this vast world that we live in. A woman who does not settle. Many americans should try this thing we call "orgullo", or "pride". It's a beautiful thing, you know.
I do not wear a sombrero.
I don't know any gang members, other than some ex-students of mine. I tried to help them better themselves and their lives. While many of them were Hispanic, many were also Black and even (gasp!) white.
I feel sorry for you, as you obviously have much hate and bitterness in your heart, and lack much intelligence in your brain.
May God help you.
Something You Will NEVER Be
The majority of immigrants who came here in the 18th an 19th centuries from Europe were not educated well enough and not of noble blood to combat the excesses of the royalty ruling their countries. They prospered here because they could learn more and were free to help create a new country. Your country, however, is not ruled by royalty. What is your excuse for not staying there and applying your claimed intelligence for the good of your own people?
