The act of putting us to sleep on immigration reform may be a better way of putting it as they threw another issues at us to chew one another and as we get tired with one subject they kept replacing it with another so immigration reform will return because it is being kept that way as a hot button issue.

Amnesty keeps killing immigration reform. As long as granting amnesty to people who have repeatedly show disrespect for this country, its laws and its citizens is part of reforming the immigration system the American people will never allow it. Even by trying to bribe Republicans with the prospect of being allowed to bring in many more skilled workers to undercut wages has not worked. Perhaps if congress took an approach to immigration reform that would actually benefit the average American worker we could pass true immigration reform that simplified immigration while also punishing those who ignore and/or cheat the system rather than rewarding them.
