There are 67 comments on the KCRG story from Monday Sep 24, titled Pres. Trump: No statehood for Puerto Rico with critics in office. In it, KCRG reports that:

President Donald Trump on Monday declared himself an "absolute no" on statehood for Puerto Rico as long as critics such as San Juan's mayor remain in office, the latest broadside in his feud with members of the U.S. territory's leadership. Trump lobbed fresh broadsides at San Juan Mayor Carmen YulA n Cruz, a critic of his administration's response to hurricanes on the island last year, during a radio interview with Fox News' Geraldo Rivera that aired Monday.

A president can decide on statehood? Trump's denial alone should be reason to accept Puerto Rico as our 51st state.
VIVA PUERTO RICO, the 51st STATE!

If we determine criteria for statehood as being able to pay your way, the deep south would have to leave the union.

No Statehood for Puerto Rico. Don't we have enough dead beats? They need to improve themselves first, become civilized.

No, I would like them to be helpful. They would still be lazy people whatever their color. There were pictures in the paper last month of semi trailers in parking lots filled with rotten supplies sent to take care of people after their Hurricane. They never got around to distributing them. Seven trailers full. No, because they wanted money. Well, there isn't any more

So for a wayward few, others should suffer. Only a bigot refers to an entire people as lazy.

Supplies were distributed by their leadership. If their own leaders are that stupid, and useless , we don't need a whole state of them. Let them apply in 5 years when they might become more ambitious.

and respect the president first and foremost. Something those unreliable mayors and governor are not doing. The damned governor doesn't know how to govern especially during a natural catastrophe. They allowed thousands upon thousands of cases of water just sit and ROT ! why were they not distributed ? everybody could've benefited from the free cases of water !

WE DON'T WANT PUERTO RICO as a state, PERIOD ! so all you Puerto Ricans in Florida PACK UP AN GO ! go make your Puerto Rico rico again !

Puerto Rico should be an independent country.
Let them sink on their own.

Alabama is such a hellish, revolting place, I would like to see it secede from the union. After that it could just sink into the oily Gulf of Mexico and disappear forever.

Most Americans would happily put a border at the Mason-Dumbass line and take a tropical resort like PR in exchange.

They speak the language and take the money, which is more than 90% of Southerners are capable of, at least the 1st part.

I've been to 38 states and a dozen countries, from the Mediterranean to the Middle East, from Cuba to Japan. The dirtiest, filthiest place I've ever been, aside from Nogales, MX, was San Juan, Puerto Rico. Even Kingston Jamaica was cleaner. San Juan reminds me a lot of Tampa.
I'd love to see Alabama take its space program, auto manufacturing and Army aviation out of the reach of liberal dumbshits.

They already are. Why does it take a FREAKING YEAR to even come up with an accurate death toll? A lot of places are still in disrepair. That's Bangladesh level.

It's a dump. Let's make Haiti a state while we're at it.

Good grief, folks, we need to incorporate winners into America not losers. We're NOT the world's grandparents.
