In three days, the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season will be another addition to the history books without much mention of impacts to the Carolina coast.

Myrtle Beach "Officials" don't learn at all! They are still spending enormous amounts of money, on guess what? Trying to get the bikers back? Hell no.
Trying to encourage the military to come here? Nope.
Most of their money is spent on Advertising the supposed success of the "Tourism Growth Initiative" , lol.
This is nothing but a politically motivated form of CYA, to convince the people who don't pay attention that the Mayor and Co. are doing more than warm a chair. Crass political indoctrination at best....

I am not sure what your source of information about Murder Beach trying to get the bikers back is. Are you talking about the clown council or the Shambers of Commerce. I know that much of the advertising has been drawing in much poorer lower class type tourist that spend very little money, but I see no indication that they have targeted any motorcycle tourist.
I would think that John Rhodes and Tommy Rices 2008 failed anti-motorcycle tourist thing is was funny, if so many people had not gotten hurt and it were not for all the jobs lost and increase in crime as a direct result of the city then not having enough money to hire new police officers and thus causing to crime rates to go out of control.
All the problems the city now faces were caused by the failed Take Back May Anti-tourist Selective Tourism Campaign and the seedy cities problems have now had huge negative effects on the rest of the Grand Strand. Just think, little man Rhodes had actually threatened to sue the other towns if they did not support his insane anti-motorcyclist campaign. I think the other towns now need to sue him, Tom Rice and the town of Murder Beach.
So in hindsight it is now clear that Tommy RiceKrispy mans take back May Selective tourism campaign was a huge failure and what did the slow minded Gremlins decide to do, make him the Chair person for Horry County. How genius what that. Then they turn around and make him a Congressman. It just goes to show just how many little old senile pickled brained voters we have here in Horry County.
Immediately after the seedy city of Murder Beach declared war on Harley Davidson owners and Bike feast bikers as well they very quickly realized that they had driven almost half a billion dollars worth of future revenues away in the middle of a recession. not so smart.
So what did they do then, created a special illegal tax to try and offset the damage that their poor leadership and gross mismanagement had caused.
So now after 4 years of the NOT A DIME TILL THE END OF TIME BOYCOTT, I am hearing from people like you that the seedy city is now trying to get the bikers back.
I am sure that many of those posers will be quick to forgive and forget and will be right back, After all just last Memorial day week the A.B. bikers dumped several tons of garbage inside Murder Beach city limits. No one really knows just how many millions of dollars it takes to generate that much trash, but we know it is a lot.
So in reality what the seedy city really drove away was the money, being as the motorcycles never ever really left.
Sure a few of the upper class very wealthy Harley riding retirees decided not to ever come back, but they were quickly replaced by those no class low class drunken red neck posers on Harley s. You know the kind that just like to get drunk, cause trouble and spend as little money as possible.
Now we can all sit back and just wait to see the towns Karma come back to bite them in the azz.
It does not take a genius to realize that by destroying a towns reputation over night, you have also destroyed the jobs which in turn causes crime rates to double or triple.
People will never again view Murder Beach the way they once did. Sad but true. Now I call that Karma.
Also know that anyone with any self respect would refuse to spend any money inside Murder Beach Seedy Limits until the city official made a formal apology for it past actions.
I say, NOT A DIME TILL THE END OF TIME.

and yes it is my opinion that taking tax money from citizens that goes directly to a non-government non-accountable private pseudo-buisness group or association is or should be illegal.
Maybe I should create my own association and get tax revenues that I can then spend on what ever I choose too without being subject to any or all freedom of information request on just where the money is really going too.
This is why I call them the Shambers of Commerce along with so many of the outrageous things that the group says and does.
How totally inappropriate that the so called leadership can do so much damage with their moronic irresponsible actions and then have the consumers have to pay to offset the damage caused by their mismanagement and poor leadership.

Now some bikers like myself simply like to ride, and ride and ride all around inside city limits, but spend not one dime of money inside city limits.
But do not worry, because there are lots of lower class drunken red necks and other posers on Harley s that will spend money.
I like to let all the little old slow minded pickled brained Greyhem Gremlin voters know that the motorcycles are still here, never really left, will continue to stay, and some of us real bikers will never again SPEND A DIME TILL THE END OF TIME INSIDE THE SEEDY CITY LIMITS.
We are now going on four years, four Holiday season, that I have not spent a Dime and I am just one of thousands of motorcycle riders that actually stands up for something. I know lots of posers that are not real and do not really stand for anything that do not really care about the boycott, but for me, until the so called leadership actually makes a formal apology for their hurtful and inappropriate actions, I will not forgive and will continue to withhold my money.
So the Gremlins can live with the out of control crime, the lower class of tourist and the bad reputation that the seedy city now has.

I would not be surprised if people failed to come to our aid when we get hit with a major hurricane do to our past attitudes, especially after the way the seedy city of Murder Beach treated all those tourist back in 2009. The town pretty much destroyed our reputation almost over night.
