What happened yearly in Quiapo, Manila is not a parade!!! It is shoving each other because of lack of discipline!!! Take note the piece of black wood fell down from its pedestal and was brought up by the gangster cliques!!!

Too much dipping into the pockets of others and taking liberties with women!!! This was the time when the plague known as dengue spread all over the Catholics in the Philippines!!!

Eco group lauds Iglesia ni Cristo for clean walkathon

Iglesia ni Cristo charity walk in Manila. Thousands join the Iglesia ni Cristo Worldwide Walk for victims of super Typhoon Yolanda. Organizers of the event on Feb. 15, 2014, also aim to set world record for charity walks. Asti Flores
An ecological group on Saturday lauded the Iglesia ni Cristo for keeping its charity walk for survivors of super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) clean.

The EcoWaste Coalition said it was "delighted" to see the route of the charity walk "devoid of unsightly and filthy trash."

"We commend the organizers and participants for manifesting their solidarity with the victims in an earth-friendly way. Luneta was litter-free as it should be," said coordinator Aileen Lucero.

She added there was no stench in the area that indicated people may have relieved themselves on the walls.

Last January, devotees of the Black Nazarene were criticized for littering the route of the traslacion (procession) and some were chided for relieving themselves on walls.

"We hope other faith and non-faith groups conducting outdoor events will follow suit and ensure that the surroundings are kept clean and tidy as they gather for fun, leisure, politics or worship," Lucero said.

Earlier Saturday, INC members started a charity walk for Yolanda survivors in Manila. The walk also aimed to set a new world record for a charity walk.— LBG, GMA News

The Behavior of the Undisciplined:

Eco group decries waste left by Black Nazarene devotees

By DJ Yap

Philippine Daily Inquirer 4:47 pm | Friday, January 10th, 2014

MANILA—As in past observances of the feast of the Black Nazarene, Manila’s Quiapo district turned into a virtual wasteland in the wake of the kilometers-long procession by millions of devotee on Thursday, pollution watchdog EcoWaste Coalition lamented Friday.
“We are deeply saddened by the way Quiapo turned into a dump due to the unimpeded disposal of garbage in the streets,” said Tin Vergara, zero waste campaigner of EcoWaste.

The group said its “Basura (trash) Patrollers” reported widespread littering in Quiapo, particularly the streets of Carriedo, Evangelista, R. Hidalgo, C. Palanca, Paterno, Gonzalo Puyat and Villalobos, Quezon Boulevard, and Plaza Miranda.

“Styrofoam containers for meals given to the devotees were found abandoned in street gutters and lamp posts and under parked vehicles,” EcoWaste said.

“The clogged storm drains along Quezon Boulevard were covered with trash, while portions of Evangelista Street were strewn with burnt firecrackers and at the corner of Evangelista-Ronquillo Streets was a huge pile of stinking waste,” it added.

“By past midnight, people were literally walking on garbage on Carriedo Street,” the group said.

A report by the state-run Philippine News Agency on Friday said at least 28 truckloads, or 336 tons, of garbage were collected by the Metro Manila Development Authority a day after the procession.

Francis Martinez, MMDA Metro Parkway Clearing Group head, said that since the start of the procession from the Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church, they had already gathered 23 truckloads, or 276 tons, of garbage.

As the cleaning operations continued Friday, garbage that filled five more truckloads were collected, PNA quoted Martinez as saying.

Fire trucks also began spraying water on the road to eliminate the stench and remnants of trash left by the devotees.

“The dirty streets of Quiapo do not befit Manila’s vision of making the feast of Black Nazarene as an international tourist attraction,” the group said.

The group noted the earlier announcement of the Manila Tourism and Cultural Affairs Bureau that the religious celebration would be referred to as the “International Pilgrimage of the Black Nazarene” beginning in 2015.

“We want our foreign visitors to bear witness to our people’s indomitable faith and remember the prayers and sacrifices of the ‘mamamasan,’ not the inhospitable dumping of garbage in Quiapo streets. That is not the kind of publicity we want,” the EcoWaste statement said.
EcoWaste said the feast of the Black Nazarene and similar festivities should not be exempt from abiding by the country’s basic environmental laws, particularly those under Republic Act 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.

That law specifically prohibits “the littering, throwing and dumping of waste matters in roads, sidewalks, canals, esteros, parks and other public places,” the group said.

Under the law, violators shall be fined P300 to P1,000 and/or obliged to render community service in the city or town where the offense was committed. With a report by Julliane Love de Jesus, INQUIRER.net

EcoWaste Coalition Laments Garbage-Strewn Streets after Revelry, Urges “Green” New Year’s Resolutions

Posted on January 1, 2012 by admin | Permalink

A waste and pollution watchdog bewailed the massive trash left abandoned in Metro Manila’s streets and sidewalks following the New Year’s festivities.

Ocular inspections conducted by the EcoWaste Coalition’s Basura Patrol, particularly in the city of Manila, uncovered huge quantities of garbage dumped by revelers for street sweepers to clean up.

For example, Pedro Gil and Paz Sts. in Paco, Singalong and Zobel Roxas Sts. in Malate, and Carlos Palanca, Carriedo, Evangelista, R. Hidalgo and Villalobos Sts. in Quiapo were all strewn with garbage and the iconic Plaza Miranda was literally carpeted with trash.

The most visible post-revelry discards, according to volunteers, were firecracker residues, cigarette butts, plastic bags, plastic bottles, paper and plastic food wrappers, polystyrene containers, food leftovers, soiled boxes and newspapers.

“We are saddened to see how litterbugs reared their ugly heads again at the boisterous festivities to welcome the New Year,” said Roy Alvarez, President, EcoWaste Coalition.

“As if filling the skies with toxic dusts and fumes from firecrackers and fireworks was not enough, they left piles of rubbish on streets that could easily pack dozens of hauling trucks,” he noted.

“The unrestrained disposal we observed is obviously not a splendid way to usher 2012. It could be an ominous sign of another year of messy garbage problems,” he emphasized.

To set the ugly habit of wasting right, Filipinos from all walks of life should take on and commit to fulfilling some basic “green” New Year’s resolutions, the EcoWaste Coalition suggested.

The Irisan dumpsite avalanche last year that buried five people in garbage should serve as a stern reminder of what can happen with unchecked consumption and indiscriminate disposal, the group said.

“Many Filipinos make resolutions to serve as goals during the year and we hope they adopt some, if not all, of these ‘green’ resolutions,” Alvarez said.

1.“I will be a responsible consumer, live simply and not blindly submit to crass materialism.”
2.“I will trim down my ‘waste size’ by actively reusing and recycling my discards to the fullest.”
3.“I will say no to plastic bags and Styrofoam containers.”
4.“I will proudly use ‘bayong’ and reusable carry bags.”
5.“I will refuse to patronize overpackaged products and favor least packaged, locally-produced, eco-friendly products.”
6.“I will avoid products with toxic chemicals and refrain from throwing hazardous waste into regular bins.”
7.“I will diligently sort my discards to make reusing, recycling and composting clean and fun.”
8.“I will not burn my discards and dirty the air with health-damaging pollutants.”
9.“I will never litter, and treat my surroundings as an extension of my own home.”
10.”I will inspire and persuade at least three people to switch to greener and healthier lifestyle.”

According to government data, Metro Manila generates up to 8,600 tons of waste per day, which is equivalent to about 25% of the national waste production of some 35,000 tons daily.

Some 30 to 50 percent of discards generated all over the country get collected and disposed of in 643 open dumpsites, 384 controlled dumpsites and 38 landfills nationwide.

“Jesus is never called God in the Synoptic Gospels, and a passage like Mk. 10:18 would seem to preclude the possibility that Jesus used the title of himself. Even the fourth Gospel never portrays Jesus as saying specifically that he is God. The sermons which Acts attributes to the beginning of the Christian mission do not speak of Jesus as God. Thus, there is no reason that Jesus was called God in the earliest layers of the New Testament tradition. This negative conclusion is substantiated by the fact that Paul does not use the title in any epistle written before 58 ...”

Reference: Brown, Raymund F., Jesus: God and Man, p. 30. Milwaukee: The Bruce Publishing Company, n.d.

Tunghayan natin ang sinabi ni Allan Richardson sa kaniyang aklat na An Introduction to the Theology of the New Testament:

“The New Testament nowhere says tout court that Christ is God.”
Reference: Ricahrdson, Allan. An Introductioin to the Theology of the New Testament, p. 63. London, Great Britain: SLM Press Ltd., 1958.

Let the the "Great Religious Recession" intensify for Catholicism and Protestantism!!! Depart from these false religions!!!

“The New Testament says that Jesus was the Word of God, it says that God was in Christ, it says that Jesus is the Son of God; but it does not say that Jesus was God ...”

“Paul never specifically states that Jesus was God, though he told the converts in Colossae that Jesus was the 'image' or 'ikon' of the invisible God ...”

Reference: Wilson, A.N. Jesus: A Life, p. 20. New York: W.W. Norton & Company, In., 1992.

All Catholics and Protestants must proceed to the nearest Iglesia ni Cristo chapel for inquiries about pristine biblical doctrines!!!

“… But on the other hand Jesus is scarcely ever directly called 'God' and never by Paul himself ...”

Reference: Hans Kung. On Being A Christian, p. 440. New York: Image Book, 19 66.

All Catholics and Protestants must re-examine and reject the false teachings of the Trinitarian fabricators!!!

“… Peter did not claim that Jesus of Nazareth was God. He 'was a man, commended to you by God by the miracles and portents and signs that God worked through him when he was among you'...”

Reference: Armstrong, Karen. A History of God, p. 107. Great Britain: Mandarin Paperbacks, 1994.

“… He was God. And this was the interpretation placed upon His words by those who hated them.”

Reference: A.D. Fr. Apologetics: A Course on Religious Instruction, p. 95. Nihil Obstat: Fr. Virgilio Soriano, Censur; Imprimatur: A.G. Casas, V. Gen. Philippines: Daughters of St. Paul, Phil., 1961.

“What we are likely to overlook in these words of Jesus, however, is that he does not say,'I and God are one'. The whole reason why he makes the claim at all is not to arrogate to himself the divinity, but to make clear that his mission as the Son is to carry the will of the Father who sent him (see 4:34; 5:30). It is in this obedience to the will of the Father that he witnesses to his true Sonship. By the totality of his obedience he reveals God as his Father. It is because of the total conformity of his will, because of his obedience, to the will of the Father, that he can say ,'I and the Father are one'.”

Reference: Marrow, Stanley B. The Gospel of John – A Reading, p. 177. Makati, Philippines: Paulist Press, 1997.
