It's Official: Sandy Was No Hurricane
#1 Nov 18, 2012
Cyclone. That was the name of the Rollercoaster I rode in Coney Island, NY, many years ago.
I swore to God, if He let me live, I would never ride another roller coaster again. Three straight down drops.
I don't care what anyone says, that Sandy was a wicked Halloween storm. They wanted candy, and they got Sandy.
It was spooky. I looked out the window. No lights. Just black trees bending and flashes of lightning.

Oh goody. Now those with minor damage can inflate their minor or unnecessary claims which I've seen happen after a nasty thunderstorm. Some just needed a few shingles or boards replaced on one side of the house got entire roofs. Those who never did any tree trimming/prunning got their over grown fallen trees cut up for free.

Obviously you have not seen pictures of NYC, I live there and there are areas totally devistated. Yesterday i tried to go to Kohls its gone the whole mall it was in is devistated was flooded from the Ocean. Before you speak do some research look online, watch tv.

I've seen tv and the damage. I'm not saying there was not any devestation. BUT for insurance reasons storms like this attract frauds. I've lived through floods and hurrincanes in different states and see what people wind up getting for minor damage. And that's the problem. The people who were devestated should get the aid and not the guy crying my basement took some water and I lost my big screen tv.
The insurance companies and fema will be asking for a list. I guarantee you half the items on those submitted list, especially for possessions will be for already worn out unusable items already on someone's eventually going to buy list.
What happens after a major storm like that especially when people who didn't suffer catastrophic damage see their neighbors being reimbursed for not that catastrphic damage want theirs too. They want in on new stuff too. It snowballs, it becomes a mob mentality. I've seen this in middle class neighborhoods with a few flustered shingles after a severe thunderstorm/micro tornadoes get new roofs because they could-they were coached by adjusters & contractors on how to get insurance money. I saw people who rented an apartment get reimbursed for 350$ in food on a 10$ an hour job. How do you even have a refrigerator even capable of storing 350$ of food in an apartment or how do you buy that much food. But when it was advertised that you if you lost power during certain dates and your frig went you could get reimbursed. This is a small example but you wait and see what some of the people get who got litte or no damage. And unfortunetly some who actually need aide the most will get overlooked.
The point is make sure the people who were devasted or wiped get aid and not someone in the geographic vicinity who suffered minor damage and loss.

I'm shaking down the insurance too. One of the gals at Badda Bing's got a scratch and is causing our gentlemen's club significant losses.
