I am not from Louisiana but it pisses me off how they build a wall around some godless sh!thole like new orleans that is filled with bipeds, fags, etc. However, places like Laplace,Parish, etc. is left to survive for themselves. I guess it isnt black enough for the status. Apparently there isnt enough bipeds to justify a dam.

If you go to the St. John Parish website they have info on where the water is and if the area is passable now. Think it was last updated at noon: www.sjbparish.com . Also, Entergy has a website with a power outage map: http://viewoutage.entergy.com/la.aspx . No one in the parish is getting power any time soon, tho, as they can't turn it on til the water is gone. Water and wastewater is supposed to be back on tonight, tho. Hope this helps someone!!!! BY the way, y'all need to post on the weather channel pictures... Lots of rude people are saying we're idiots for not leaving. Makes me so sad.

Because people in that area were not told to leave. That area doesn't normally flood. Typical TN response though. You people only have compassion and "volunteer" when you are sure you will get credit for it.

Godless shithole? A city whose every bit of culture is built around the church? And LaPlace isn't black enough? Have you BEEN to LaPlace? And when did Laplace become a parish? What exactly are you going to dam? Laplace isn't a RIVER.....the LAKE overflowed. And this isn't a teeny little lake. Read up about what you're talking about, cupcake.:)

Yes, Barbara. It was pretty bad last I heard. St John's Sheriff's office has a Facebook page with a lot of info. I hope this helps.

And honey, look around. A lot of your friends, especially the ones who are SO extremely anti-gay, are hooking up on the down low.

b/c they were not under evacuation orders. how about judging people when you know the true facts. i grew up there and that area does not flood nor were they under mandatory evacuation orders. i am guessing you are not from that area.

Did you ever get hold of them? If not, I can go and check. Colonial and Uncle Sams and LaPlace are all okay so Coozies should be.

Just spoke to my brother on lafitte st in Laplace. Has one foot of water and doesn't want to evacuate for they will take him to Alexandria and he has birds, a dog and cat.
Does anyone know where he can go with his animals? He has a second floor though but I tried to tell him to get his animals off the first floor for the water has bacteria and could harm the animal's health. He seems overwhelmed by everything that is happening and won't listen. I live in Maryland and feel helpless to help. If anyone can help with info it would be greatly appreciated.
DID HE EVACUAT WITH OR WITHOUT PETS?

I have been in LaPlace since 1988. Water has NEVER covered my sidewalk. It wasn't until I awoke and stepped in water that I knew something was wrong. The water came up so fast. I just thank the 2 guys that rescued mr in their boat. May God bless them.

Karen, did he get help? Are the animals still in the house? Did you ever contact anyone because the Wildlife & Fisheries was going around checking some houses for animals....did anyone of your family let any organization know? If he evacuated, then he should've told the shelter there were animals there and the organization would've gone there. Please update...
