Just called the lavallette police#. They said to call on Thursday for updates. They are doing search and rescue and have not done a full assessment

This just breaks my heart. I spent many summers in Lavallette at our summer house on West Point Island. 17 Bullard Dr. My grandmother owned a house on Trenton Ave. for 60 years. My Dad was a lifegaurd in Lavallette back in the 50's. I haven't been back in 35 years. Spent many summer nights at the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights and now it is gone. Sending prayers up North from Florida.

I'm hoping my grandfathers old house is okay. 109 Virginia Ave. He sold it back in the '70's. It was a beautiful home.

Get on Facebook and type in Jersey Shore Hurricane there is much information there. Lavallette did well from reports from people with homes on President Ave., Reese, and Vance. All homes nearer to 35 N. on ocean block!! Good News in general for Lavallette. 35N had 3?feet of water and now receeding. They are now plowing the main hiwys as only bridge is ThMathus west. Other bridge east declared not safe. In videos, etc. Lavallette had homes all on own property. This is very good news!

Please let me know if you hear anything. I saw Facebook post that houses took water on the island. I have no news but my parents lived there since 1955! We no longer own the home. I am heartbroken!
