The LIO said it well at HuffPo on this misleading article:

Thanks for the article. People often advise pro-libertarians to do what they've already been doing for years.

Assisting citizens within the broad context of Liberal Democracy in forming Lib-based and voluntary societies guided by Libertarian volunteers --from homes on-- is in fact the formal mission of the modern movement.

OWS is a project that originated in Canada and locally melded into many local pro-libertarian activist and volunteer groups . These also developed the OWS is many areas e.g. Tampa Bay/St. Pete, Fl. and worked to keep it non-partisan and broad-based e.g. New England. During Sandy many Libertarian Volunteers / preppers aided neighbors.

While there is some overlap, the right-wing 'Liberty Movement' is not the same as the centrist Libertarian movement and is in our experience a source of mis-information in many cases.

Pro-Libertarians are developing projects in every country and a formal project for local SMILE/libertarian-interested societies is in place. For info on people using voluntary Libertarian tools on similar and other issues worldwide, please see the non-partisan Libertarian International Organization @ http://www.Libertarian-International.org and its co-editor blog which chronicles how people are libertarianizing wider society while developing local coalitions, co-ops etc., or the many projects founded. legalized or catalyzed by LIO Fellows--including the internet.
