Obama and the other politicians have squeezed all the photo ops they could out of this disaster. It's time to pass it along to the low level bureaucrats to do the best they can with it.

Are you saying the Federal government should pay for people who choose to live in flood zones?

Bush failed the USA, and all those affected, by Hurricane Sandy. Four years out of office and still Bush can't get it right.

Who are the freeloaders?

NJ and NY, two of the states hit hardest by Sandy receive 61% and 79% of the funds they pay to the Federal Government. They are among the bottom 10 of the 50 states in ranking of precent returned. NJ receives the least of any state. In contast, Louisiana is among the top 5 states, receiving 178%; i.e.,$1.78 for every $1.00 sent to the Federal Government.

So, explain to us who the freeloaders are?

Bush took all kinds of heat for the Katrina disaster and the infamous "Way to go, Brownie! " It is impossible to measure the suffering of either the Katrina victims as opposed to what continues along the Atlantic coastal areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. The difference is the absence of continuing coverage of the limited progress of FEMA and other agencies responsible for setting things right. There are still areas, especially onStaten Island without power. Some resort or tourist areas along the coast are destroyed which will negatively impact the states' treasuries. Tom's River in NJ is a memory. There are some school districts that have had to cancel classes until January. The politicians, as another poster pointed out, have visited the disaster areas, kissed a few babies and gone on to their next photo ops. No one is being held responsible for the inaction that is frustrating residents and business owners, During the Bush administration, the plight of those affected and his apparent indifference were trumpeted every day in newspaper headlines every day for months. Obama has been given a pass.

Both disasters are evidence that central planning by government is ineffective. The tax dollars that subsidize FEMA should be returned to the states so that they, not the federal government can develop plans for events such as this in the future. The continuing nightmare in the wake of the storm should signal the beginning of the end of useless and incompetent federal bureaucracies.

The role of the Federal government is only for our military, not to pay for houses of people who choose to live in flood zones. You dumb liberals don't get it.

Global warming causes all those extreme weather disasters in the U.S. now and each one of them costs us $20-$60 billion, so there is no money left for anything other than dealing with global warming disasters. And, now it is going to become far too expensive for the Republicans to keep us on ending oil and to have oil wars for the major oil companies if it is costing us $1 trillion a year to clean up the weather disasters from staying on oil.

Here Obama ran up $5 trillion of debt in just 4 years and he then says there is NO money for infrastucture spending. They can't give New Jersey one cent to rebuild and make the property near the shore secure. So where did the stimulus money go and where did the $5 trillion Obama borrowed go?? To welfare, 45 million on food stamps, to long term unemployment, to the giant government pensions. He gave all that money to the states to keep the bankrupt state pensions propped up for a few more years so that no one notices every Dem program is bankrupt and collapsed. He has to borrow money now to pay out Medicare. And neither party is going to cut anything, they never have, and they never will. Both parities budgets run the debt up to $25 trillion, then we default. They figure it will take a few more years before the world takes the dollar down as being the world's reserve currency, so they can print up more fake money for a few more years. All the politicans care is that the messes they keep making don't show up until they leave office.

Like Ron Paul said, Bush ran up $5 trillon of debt on wars and the Dems run up tons of debt on domestic programs. He said both parties are addicted to spending. they are. What more does anyone need to see to get it? Neither party ever cut anything, and both parties ran up $5 trillion of debt each in the last 12 years. And, just 12 years later we went from being financially sound to defaulting on massive debt. And, look how god damned dumb the public is that they reelected Obama because they do not even know he ran up all of that debt which took the U.S. debt from the brink of disaster to no way to ever pay that big debt back. The last thing a president should have done on the back of Bush running up $5 trillion of debt was to do the same thing. Had the next president after Bush cut the borrowing from day one and NOT done a new trillion dollar tax increase on a new health care program when 8 million people had just lost their jobs and the banks had just collapsed and the housing market had just collapsed, we would not be going under today. Obama should have been conservative in his actions and worked only towards lower unemployment, not taken on huge new spending while the country was just hit with massive debts by Bush and had just gone under from Bush's policies. Bush was so bad that's why we got Obama and most Americans do not follow politics, so they voted on gay marriage and on abortion. they have no clue the US is in decline and collapsing so they put the guy back in office who will make the U.S. collapse from borrowing money. What a mess. It's a mess that now no one can undo. It's gone too far.

How is the best way to do that? Do you prefer to lie, twist facts or ignore the facts? Some deflect by changing the subject or draw false parallels. Which is your preferred method?
