Guantanamo detainees not enemy combatants, says U.S. court

A U.S. federal appeals court has struck down the U.S. military's classification of a Guantanamo Bay detainee as an enemy combatant.

This is the first time the U.S. court system has overruled the Bush administration's designation of a detainee since the Guantanamo facility began operations in early 2002.

The US Circus Court of Appeals have ruled that Gitmo citizens are US citizens who have the right to vote this November. One detainee was quoted saying:

Is this the ACLU at work again? I really want to know! So now we try them and they are not proven combatants and we let them go, right. And the next time we catch them after killing more Americans, are they still considered non combatants?? This is totally unheard of! This is our lives these Assholes are playing with. Here you have an article that actually says 'U.S. authorities believe some Uighurs have links to al-Qaeda. But THEY ADMIT the Uighurs held at Guantanamo NEVER fought against the United States, NOR did they take part in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.'

So the US government says they've done nothing wrong, the US government says they've done nothing to damage your country, the US government says it has no evidence to indicate any crime, although they have some vague suspicions, and the US Supreme Court says 'live by the rules of the Fifth Amendment and either put these people on trial or release them'- and you're screaming about about liberalism and the fact the judicial branch of Government is actually providing a balance to Presidential power???

So do you hate the US Constitution or do you just think the ideas Jefferson and Co came up with are stupid these days?

You know - separation of powers, due process of
law, no depriviation of life or liberty, etc?

Actually, in Arabic nations, usually only the women make that noise (ululate). Native North American warriors or hispanic anyone in a good mood but in Arabic nations, usually only women.

PS - you did see the bit about NEVER attacked the US NOR participated in the Twin Towers bombing? Even for 'humour', don't put up a straw man - more damage to the US. It doesn't make you funny or convincing, it just makes it look like you didn't bother to read the article or anything about the decision, which has nothing at all to do with people who actually have done something to damage the 'States and only applies to people who have never fought. That is indeed why the Supreme Court said the US Government can't call them 'enemy combatants', because they never fought.

When someone says something that isn't correct, it is called a mistake and it's right to point that out, so they can correct the error. Even when that someone is the US Executive Branch. Reality is definitive, Governments frequently inaccurate.
