Climate is a bit more than just temperature, but why bother feeding the IB da Dumbos more ammunition?

I have to apologize. I misread your post. You specifically wrote "Temperature" but I responded as though you had written "Weather."

So you consider the "global climate" to be the "average global temperature" averaged over a specified time period, yes? If so, then what margin of error do you consider acceptable and useful? We don't have the means to compute anything close to what I consider acceptable and useful, i.e.+/- 4degC.

Of course, Earthling-1 disagrees with you (see below). You have presented a completely verifiable "climate" concept whereas he needs "climate" to remain a completely unfalsifiable deity.

Why didn't Earthling-1 just tell us what that "bit more" happens to be?

Just a note, you are causing Earthling-1 to panic. Your efforts to discuss science completely undermine months of diligent efforts on his part to EVADE science. Personally I commend you.

Corporate America bought Hillary Clinton for $21 million over the past two years. 25 minute speeches, she won't publish, netting $250,000 from Wall Streets biggest players.

Hillary wants to mitigate climate change, not Trump.

There is enormous variance measuring climate over space. When I was a kid, climate was all about geographic latitude, seascape and landscape features. Nowadays, climate is mathematical abstraction.

+/- 4 C. is acceptable, usual and customary in my opinion.

Time too; climate variance over time is like day and night, like summer and winter.

Don't panic.

Tell me about it. I just recently had to get Earthling-1 squared away on this. He was under the impression that because two geographic locations 4km apart COULD be close in temperature that they somehow COULD NOT be of notably different temperatures. He gave some examples of some locations that were of similar temperatures.

The amount of temperature variance that can exist between two locations that are 4km apart is the amount of error built into a system of ~8,000,000 thermometers equally-spaced/evenly distributed across the globe at ~8km apart, including oceans, mountain ranges, polar caps, fruited plains, etc...i.e. the entire surface.

When I was a kid, there was no "*THE* climate." *A* climate was the prevalent weather in the LOCAL area in question. The earth has millions of climates. My car has a climate that I adjust with the "climate control" setting.

It was never any more detailed/specific than that and that apparently hasn't changed. The earth has millions of climates. My car has a climate that I adjust with the "climate control" setting. There really is no such thing as a "global local" anything.

Yes it is...but only after a religious "Climate" preacher gets cornered into not being able to explain what "climate" specifically entails. It is the last resort of the religious defender struggling to keep "Climate" completely unfalsifiable. I have gone through this process countless times. "Climate" preachers treat it exactly as Christians treat the human soul:
1. Christians insist every person has a "soul" and warmizombies insist the earth has a "global climate."
2. I ask a Christian "What color is your soul?" and "Where is it in your body?" while I ask warmizombies "How do I touch 'climate'? How do I get some on my hands?"
3. Both Christians and warmizombies respond "It doesn't work that way. The soul/climate is everything you see, it's just MORE."
4. I respond "You do realize that you just made it completely unfalsifiable, yes?"
5. Christians respond, "Yes, it's a matter of faith; it's what I believe" whereas warmizombies respond "You're an idiot, it's settled science, radiative forcings, negative feedback loops, warmest of the instrument record, renewables, capitalism wants to kill us all because of its GREED."

In short, you are the only person of which I am aware who has established a verifiable definition of a "global climate," of course you have pitted yourself against the climate lemmings who NEED to keep their deity "Climate" unfalsifiable lest their WACKY dogma be shown to be false.

Do you believe CO2 traps heat?

Do you believe in the holy spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

Do you believe "climate" is defined in science?

Do you believe that a dictionary is a science textbook?

<quoted text>
I'm not a big fan of Global Warming religious terms. I take it that "energy budget" is the change in the "energy balance"? I believe this change is caused by either "radiative forcing" or "climate forcing" (depending on the sect) and that there is a "tipping point" that is either approaching or has already passed because it's "already too late" (depending on the sect).
Oops, you lose (so soon)!
"Religion" is NOT science thus, acording to the rule ....invoking "it" results in a forfeiture of this game.

Better luck next time, Mr. daMann..
