Hope it helps. But they've been slowly increasing ICE efficiency(internal combustion engine) for 100+ years & some complex engines have gotten a bit over 30% efficiency.

Simple electric motors are already 90+% efficient.

And if we could harness all the hot air spewed by the dirtling, brian_g and the Less than a Box of Rocks the efficiency of power generation would see a 100% increase
