Wake up, people. Astonishingly, half of the world’s hungry - 441 million people - could eat for a year on the amount of food that G8 countries burn in their gas tanks as biofuels.
In addition, this situation has diverted land use and led to increases in greenhouse gas emissions as well.

In our 3 cars, mpg went down 5%, 7% & 8+%, using 10% ethanol gasoline, instead of 100% ethanol-free gasoline. Using ethanol in an lower compression ratio engine designed for 100% ethanol-free gasoline, is nearly useless. Ethanol needs higher compression ratio engines to obtain its efficiency.
With 100% gasoline, your gasoline engine will be smoother, quieter, & will have slightly more low-end torque, such that less downshifting is necessary. Because of the higher mpg, it's like having a larger gas tank in your vehicle without carrying extra gasoline.

The smallest footprint transportation fuel would be nuclear ammonia, especially if produced with Liquid Fluoride Thorium Recyclers.
