The question Democrats cana t answer on the rising cost of energy
The Solar Foundation report shows that installation of solar systems accounted for the lion's share of solar employment in California last year, which supported 46,489 jobs. Manufacturing of solar products ranked second with 11,683 jobs, followed by sales and distribution and project development .

"In February, California residential customers paid an average of 19.15 cents per kilowatt hour, high above the national average of 12.62 cents per kilowatt hour, according to the latest data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The national average cost of electricity is down from 12.78 last year, but the cost in California is up from 18.68."
Tiered electricity rates are the problem, when you have 'metered' tiers of electricity usage, such as16 cents for the first 43 KWh used and 21 cents for the next tier and another 48 KWh used and then 25 cents for another 100 KWh used then 32 cents there after. The utilities 'diddle' the amount of KWh in each tier from summer to winter delivery. Folks paying this type of electric bill have installed fairly large solar PV systems on their roofs and paid for them in 5 to 7 years in electricity savings. If the utilities don't get with the program, individual homes or businesses with solar PV could install their own nominal battery backup systems and lengthen the amount of time the solar PV captured during the day can be used, without intervention of the utility.

Democrats can't say why the government subsidizes nuclear to a theoretically infinite amount of damages because no private insurance firm would have, meaning there never would have been nuclear power in the US without these theoretically infinite, government subsidies.
But I guess it could also be why all that Pentagon and CIA spending to control or subvert fossil fuels rich nations are not figured into the cost of those fossil fuels.
One or the other of these questions, I am not sure.
(Also, comparing CA solar rates to energy rates nationally is disingenuous. What you would do in any intellectually honest scenario is compare CA customers' solar costs to CA nuclear costs, or even to CA natural gas costs.)

The article gave an example of future power costs, I stated a fact that Commiefornia has by and large tiered electric rates and solar PV is more affordable than doing NOTHING. Even with the recent tariffs on some solar PV panels, if you are paying 12 cents or more for a KWh of electricity, then solar PV will pay for itself and then it becomes a legacy generation product on the roof of one's home or business. YOU call ME on 'disingenuous' while pontificating on "...theoretically infinite, government subsidies." AND Conspiracy theories like "But I guess it could also be why all that Pentagon and CIA spending to control or subvert fossil fuels rich nations are not figured into the cost of those fossil fuels." YOU apparently can't find intellectually honest with your head up your azzzzzzzzzz. LOL

Energy in CA is going to be more expensive than in many states. Cost of living is higher in CA all around. So comparing average CA solar costs to average energy costs nationally is not appropriate.
If you want to make an argument that solar is affordable (especially when all these hidden, undiscussed govt subsidies for non renewable energy) are taken into account, then great.

A nuclear power accident has theoretically infinite costs associated with it. You cannot compute or repay the costs of a catastrophic nuclear power accident at one of the plants near the NYC region, for example.
The government is providing the liability insurance for the nuclear power industry because of the possible costs of such an event. No private insurer could insure that potentially infinite risk. The nuclear power industry would not exist at all in the US without this massive, implied subsidy from the taxpayers. I'm on far, far, far firmer ground in my simple argument than are many nuclear power plants....
