Rise in temps a sign that global warming continues

Jan 13, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Yuma Sun

Global warming is often treated as a "fact or fiction" piece of conversation, but it's hard to ignore new data released this week.

From the article:
Scientists note that the new record is unprecedented – normally, when the record is broken, it's by a tenth of a degree, not a full one.

toxic topix AGW deniers got an answer........
It ain't AGW unless its a three degree rise...... & every year after that. Otherwise, its just natural...... & in a cycle.....maybe motorcycle......or bicycle...... unicycle?..... cycle of some sort.

It's easy to break records when you keep changing the data base.

Just look at how many different data bases there are and how many times they have changed.

And then go look at the real data. Every state has a data set of temperatures, you'll be surprised by how much the original data differs from whichever data base you are relying on.

Oh and the plug at the bottom doesn't make you think the author is biased? Go solar! Lived in Yuma, they do need industry and they got lots of sun. A good match, until you factor in the taxpayer dollars.

..and for every degree of heat, you get more taxpayer dollars, a good reason for cooking the books.

I've shown in more detail, on another thread, you are seriously mistaken here.

We have had GLOBAL weather station data going back to about 1850, but it wasn't until about 1880 that it was considered reliable. Therefore NASA, NOAA's and CRU's data sets go back to 1880.

Yes NASA extrapolates the data (based on the closest weather station) to areas at the poles that don't have coverage. CRU does not.

If You're looking at satellite data, both RSS and UAH go back to about 1979 as I recall. There's a problem with UAH, because Roy Spencer has been found to have major errors twice [using either RSS or weather balloons as a double check -- the last time he refused to change it.]

Weather balloons have been recording temperatures for the last 50 years, but of course this is regional, and can be used to check the satellite computation of temperature.

Anomalies are typically graphed -- which are deltas about an average year.

Here is NASA

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs_v3/F...

Here is CRU

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/info/warming/

Here is UAH. And I can show you where its been proven Spencer has not corrected his satellite numbers to show there is even MORE warming than shown here.

No one is changing time frames of their data sets.

Conclusions from "Are surface temperature records reliable?"

The well-known and widely-cited reconstructions of global temperature, produced by NASA GISS, UEA CRU, and NOAA NCDC, are replicable.

Independent studies using different software, different methods, and different data sets yield very similar results.

The increase in temperatures since 1975 is a consistent feature of all reconstructions, and is also a feature found in reconstructions from natural temperature proxy measurements. This increase cannot be explained as an artifact of the adjustment process, the decrease in station numbers, or other non-climatological factors.

Nothing you stated changes my statement. The data bases are updated on a regular basis. Now if the updates are for current temps that makes some sense as data is received for the current temps.

But that's not what they have been updating, it's the historical data that is updated. That doesn't make sense. A review of original records for the four corners regions show recorded temps to be higher than the updated temps by NASA/GISS. NASA has made our higher historical temps lower so the temps today can look warmer.

Look it up.

We got to keep you away from Blue Moon Farms, a haven for rescued goats. My wife donates some of her superlative goat paintings to help the farm.
