The Mathematics Of Autumn's Effect On Global Warming

Full story: Scientific Blogging

Leaves store carbon. In the spring, leaves soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, converting the gas into organic carbon compounds, and then in the autumn, trees shed those leaves, which decompose in the soil as they are eaten by microbes.

See the yearly cycle in the Mauna Loa CO2 records. This is the annual growth/decay cycle of vegetation in the Northern Hemisphere (slightly modified by smaller amounts of land in the Southern Hemisphere).

Yes. Leaves grow then decay. The long term change is the growth in WOODY matter in the tree itself.

Despite this, we are pumping too much CO2 into the air and you can easily see the long term trend from the filtered data.

2.3 ppm more just in the last year, putting the lie to the claims of 'lower emissions'.

Facts are that the growth in emissions is still accelerating in reckless disregard for climate, the economy and lives.

From the article:

"That natural decay of organic carbon contributes more than 90 percent of the yearly carbon dioxide released into Earth's atmosphere and oceans.."

If this is true the AGWs era is over.

Google the carbon cycle and find an explanation aimed at small children- you might get it.

Here's one for you of Googling is too much trouble.

It is true that industry adds only about 2 to 3 ppm per year to the atmosphere. That is less than one percent of the current levels and probably less than ten percent of the flux (recycled carbon in and out from growth and decay)

Again, you make stupid statements. Unlike the carbon emitted and returned by growth each year, the industrial emissions add year by year and that is what is causing AGW. So no. Reality isn't 'over'.

But you are.

It's not over we had another carbon emitted issue in Indiana last night. Do to climate change shifting from warm to cold made that gas pipeline break and explode. Well maybe the maintenance of that pipeline fall short. We don't know the officials (experts) don't have a clue what caused the explosion. As reported by the infamous news media.
