Oh come now.... ex oil exec. Bush could use several means to lower gas prices. First for every gallon of oil we get from OPEC we trade in bushels of grain which they need. From now on , that grain will be ten times the price until oil comes down. secondly. take ONE DAY cost of the Iraq war and give it back to the American people.. That is roughly $300 million. ONE DAY.. and pay off every single persons credit card debt... and all debts.. each citizen over 18 would get 1million. they can spend it as they wish, then we don't care what the cost of gas is.. one FREAKIN day of the war costs that much. Secondly put a billion dollars in fuel cell cars which they already have the know how to do. NO oil. NO gas.. and NO emissions.
And lest we forget.. the MAJORITY of 9-11 terrorists were Saudi's people. SAUDI"S not one was Iraqi and this is why THIS president should have been impeached long ago.. friends with the very people that brought on 9-11. THEIR citizens were responsible... but oil is oil. and its thicker than blood.... oh you still want to talk about the environment, the economy, education. health, on and on. THis is the worst president in the history of this country and he STILL isn't impeached.. maybe if he had oral sex we could impeach him.. ahhh. see the stupidity of it all.

So how much is that security and nuclear energy, etc, worth to them? And why aren't we collecting payment from Iraq for fighting the war and having our troops there?

The United States of America, groveling before the Saudis, who perpetrated 9/11. Those idiots who put a monky on a t-shirt over Obama's name got the wrong guy. Bush is the monkey, not Obama.

Expensive it is. But at least Americas, still able to get it. Democrat Jimmy Carter, and his administration couldn't even do that! Don't anyone pretend to know which President, should be impeached!

Why ask the Saudies to lower prices?? It's your rich fat-cat
oil companies like Exxon that are reaping in recorded profits.
Wish there was another Teddy Roosevelt on the ticket this fall.

The reason we do not ask or order more oil is that our refining capacity is max'ed out. No new refineries built for about 20 years because of NIMBY. Any one of a number of responsible Administration could have solved that problem long ago. And it can be done in an environmentally safe way but the capital costs are huge. Those in this country who want to retaliate against the Saudis should remember who has the hammer (otherwise known as money) in this Econ 01 study of the law of supply and demand. Also, oil prices are high in part to the decline in the value of the dollar caused by this Administration's silly war paid for with borrowed money. The Saudis need those extra dollars to feed their ponies. Bush can thank his own policies for finding himself "hat in hand" begging for a handout.

im not really sure what kind of mental math youre doing but each citizen over the age of 18 would not get $1 mil/day--300mil/1mil=300...300 people would get a million dollars or 300mil people would get 1 dollar

and even if your ludacris theory held true, if everyone was given 1 mil, our lives wouldnt be easier--theyd be much more difficult as everyone would stop working! free market capitalism is the only way to prosperity my friend, not handouts

we have all the oil we need, start drilling for it and tell the saudis to eat their sand. we had 34 years since 1974 to get our own oil.forget about the tree huggers.

Bush is cashing in on the over priced gas. His "plea" is a lie, just like everything else that comes out of his mouth.

America didn't learn anything from the oil embargo in the seventies. On top of all the other reasons to look at developing sources for alternative fuels, one of the more rewarding would be telling the Saudis what they can do with their oil.

Can't a favor from a friend when you need one!
I thought he and his dad were friends with the Saudis? I guess they told the Bushes; "fooled you"!
So from Iraq to Saudia Arabia, the Bush administrtion is (was) way over their level of comphrehension about what they could accomplish.
Too bad the American people are the ones who ultimately suffer.
Since Bush took office it has been nothing but down hill 4 this country starting with 911

It is amazing how the prices of fuel have escalated especially when we are receiving our aid from Bush and Company. It is supposed to stimulate the economy, yes for who his oil friends and/or the outsource interests. No wonder our society has succumb to indifference and no pride in our country or ourselves.

The media continues to report crap and never presses the issue of why we are being raped each and every day. The political hacks set up a smoke screen on their continued investigations but we never hear the results only they are holding hearings or maybe they are holding meetings on more deals for the up coming party. We are like a ping pong ball being hit by both parties.

VERY EYE OPENING AND DISTURBING!
There are 8 segments to this video. It takes about 45 minutes to watch.
THIS IS A MUST TO WATCH - WHY WE ARE PAYING SO MUCH AT THE GAS PUMPS WHICH
WILL SOON DOUBLE. WHO IS REALLY PULLING THE STRINGS AND CONTROLLING NOT
ONLY THIS COUNTRY, BUT THE WORLD.

Bush probably knew what the Saudi king would say before hand. They more than likely had made the deal over the phone before Bush made the trip. Of course, going over there was good politics, and many people will buy it. Come on, crude oil was $25 a barrel when Bush took ofice, and gas was $1.46 a gallon. You figure it out.

Also I read the other day about compressed air engine cars being built in India, with the possibility of them coming here this summer. The catch - the oil companies may block them. Figure that one out. And get this, the oil companies are allowed to attend OPEC meetings. Wonder what that is all about? You don't think there is any collusion, do you? Naw.

Wasn't Saudi Arabia supposed to be Iraq's 20th province, after Kuwait (the 19th). Shouldn't both countries be pumping us oil for free?

I would like to give the finger to Bush, the Saudis, OPEC, the oil company execs, and the Wall Street oil futures traders. For starters.

Thanks. I feel better now.
