True, sounds like you are referring to right-wing Christians to me. Perfect description of them.
Yeah, the media is full of stories about right-wing Christians chanting "Death to Israel" & "Death to America" and suicide bombing all the time. If I recall my history correctly, the last time Chritians used large scale terrorism was in the 1400's (like 600 years ago)

Gail - perhaps you can back your statements up with a few facts -or- examples.

In the interim - I will refrain from the usual name calling that occurs because we have different opinions - I think you seriously believe that Islamic fanatics can be reasoned with in a rational manner. Obama may be the "man of the hour" but some of us question his judgement.

THIS WAS NEITHER ABOUT OBAMA NOR APPEASEMENT

Why is the media focusing on the wrong story here?

Obviously Obama picked up on the potential for headlines, but isn’t that a secondary story?

This about the misuse of the term "NEGOTIATE"

I notice when there is nothing to say, the right wing waterboys tend to shout his middle name as if that means he is a muslim. Also the dumbass flag pin non issue. I didn't think I would see the day when both the right wing and Hilary would be using the same sleaze of Hilary in that his middle name means he is a muslim when they kno0w for a fact he isn't. The settlement question is the correct question. I wonder if your back hurts from jumping at Israle's beck & call.
Amazing how one insignificant item can be singled out for coment, while all the rest is ignored.

It is a tradegy how this great country has forgotton September 11, 2001. There is no talking with terrorists. President Bush was correct in what he was saying. The moment we let our guard down, this country will be attacked again, and it most certainly will be worse than September 11, 2001.

President Bush is not promoting fear he is speaking the truth. The Democrats are squealing like pigs because they know they're weak on the issue of fighting terrorism and if they yell loud enough the liberal press will fall in line as usual. I guess the truth really does hurt!

"Obama has said that a president shouldn't be afraid to talk to enemies in an effort to clarify differences and resolve impasses."
Let's see ... the Iranian mullahs would love to see us all dead. We would like to continue living. That clarifies the difference.
Now, how best to resolve this impasse?
C'mon, Newsday. Get real!

To all you Chritofascists out there, Iran has never attacked another country other than Iraq in the 1980's after we helped Saddam to attack Iran first. That war caused over a million people to die.

Looks like even country music stations are upset with Bush attacking an American citizen:

“Currently, 147 country music stations have instituted the [Bush] ban, a number which has been growing by the hour. Clear Channel, a major syndicator to all radio formats across America, is considering the ban, which would increase the numbers significantly and be a major blow to the White House. Several Clear Channel stations have independently instituted their own ban.”

Bush may find his Hitler remarks backfiring even further on him considering his own well documented family history of appeasement, support and money laundering for Hitler.

Obama`s naivete` in international affairs and in dealing with fanatical Islamist-Jihadist-Iran that is hellbent on the destruction of another country is foolish and dangerous. America cannot afford to have such a rookie President. It would mean having a President who is worst than Jimmy Carter who unleashed the Ayatollah plague to the world by dethroning America`s ally in Iran. Looking back, there would be no Ayatollahs, Hezbollah, Hamas, Mehdi Army, Syrian Thuggery and the killing 240 American Marines in Beirut, and the killing and and maiming of thousands of Americans in Iraq, without Jimmy Carter being President of USA and unleashing the Ayatollahs. America cannot and must not make another mistake of having a Jimmy Carter clone-Obama in the White House. The Republicans should start countering Obama now before it is too late. The young and the liberals are easily mesmerized by Obama`s oratory. Hence, the Republican has to start unleashing their counter- Obama machine now.

Oh how I hope to one day have a newspaper on Long Island that reports the NEWS!!! No spins, just the NEWS! You at newsday (no caps) lament that your circulation is down and you don't get it. You are so slanted, you're constantly pandering to the left. Every day Hillary, Obama, Pelosi, Boxer, Gore, Carter(the WORST president) and let's not forget Howard "Yeeha" Dean attack Bush and Cheney. You (the ed. staff), eat this up and even embellish it in your leftist rag. But, heaven forbid, Bush responds or states his opinion, you attack him with an editorial saying he is playing the "fear" card again. It's no secret which side of the fence you're on. Just today, Obama said that if he talked to Hitler, maybe he could have averted WW11. Didn't he read in the history books all the APPEASEMENT tactics used by the naive diplomats of the day would do just that?
We all know how that turned out. Truth is, Obama is a light weight with no idea how to deal with the terrorists of the world. It scares me to see all those ga-ga eyed college students go wild over Obama as if he was a long -lost member of the Beatles. They have the most to lose in a Obama presidency. God help us!

So the Right prefers the Corporate puppet McCain and the Left, the Corporate puppet(s) Obama/H. Clinton. What wonderful choices 'we the people' have-as if our choices really counted. In my "DREAM TICKET" fantasy, It would have to be John McCain and Jeb Bush... No, seriously, If John McCain wants to be our next .. er..uh ... that is to say leader ?, then by all means. The Duhhbya's and all his good little 'rangers','brownies' and 'hagees' or whatever, can keep their mess that they created and keep the hatred and the phony "WAR ON TERROR", sanctified by the christian right and all their war-mongering neo-con friends. "THEY BROKE IT (right mr. mccain) THEY BOUGHT IT". So, have at it. Our future (?), is all the more bleak because of the many more (terrorists) that have been created quicker than they can be waterboarded. Oh, forgot: we don't do torture.
