Mr. Romney Reinvents History

There are 58 comments on the www.nytimes.com story from Aug 31, 2012, titled Mr. Romney Reinvents History. In it, www.nytimes.com reports that:

Mitt Romney wrapped the most important speech of his life, for Thursday night's session of his convention, around an extraordinary reinvention of history - that his party rallied behind President Obama when he won in 2008, hoping that he would succeed.

“That president was not the choice of our party,” he said. “We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.”

The truth, rarely heard this week in Tampa, Fla., is that the Republicans charted a course of denial and obstruction from the day Mr. Obama was inaugurated, determined to deny him a second term by denying him any achievement, no matter the cost to the economy or American security — even if it meant holding the nation’s credit rating hostage to a narrow partisan agenda.

Starr was initially appointed to investigate the suicide death of deputy White House counsel Vince Foster and Whitewater. The three-judge panel charged with administering the Independent Counsel Act later expanded the inquiry to include the Clinton/Lewinsky affair. The final Starr Report alleged that Billy had lied about the affair during a sworn (SWORN) deposition.

Kerry's attempt as tax evasion is fact.
Romney's party on a boat is of dubious quality
The owner is unknown
And even if it were Romney, no laws have benn broken
What you are relying on is inuendo
And nothing more
<quoted text>
Wide receiver was ONE operation that was conducted in conjunction with the Mexican government, used attempts to trace weapons, and was terminated when it failed
Fast and Furious began almost TWO years later, without the Mexican governments knowledge, made NO attempt to track weaponry, cost over 300 lives, and was executed for the sole purpose of subverting the Second Amendment.
Obama's minions had already claimed that 90% of weapons used in Mexican gang murders were of American origin, which was a complete fabrication.
Fast and Furious was STRICTLY an Obama Op, with NO connection to Wide Reciever
<quoted text>
States DO have the Right to determine residency. Further, States have the Right to determine their own law, so long as it does not supercede or subvert Federal law
<quoted text>
As for the Auto Companies, you refer to Bankruptcy law, which was WELL established - until subverted by this administration. In the event of bankruptcy, first and second tier investors/lenders (etc) get paid off, based on priority. NOWHEREe does the union get a share of the company.
Ha ha ha. Whenever it's a Republican, the answer is the same: It's theirs; no law has been broken. But when it's a Democrat, it becomes a major moral failure. You folks are the funniest!!! BTW ... where are Romney's tax returns? I would almost take bets the boat is his ... under some kind of legal ploy used to give tax benefits / hide ownership. How so very stupid and / or entitled was he to have it in Tampa when thewre are real questions about his $ in the Caymans? It's probably much like the tax write off for the horse. What an insult to Americans.

So, you can't refute anything, right?

That means you NEED to deflect towards discount propaganda
Namely calling for Romney's returns
Rest assured that if there were ANYTHING wrong with his returns, the IRS would have had a hay day. The rich are audited, as a matter of course and without cause, as often as every two years. Further, the McCain campaign vetted 23 years worth of returns, and would have made an issue of it has they found anything damning.

If ya got nuttin', why advertise?

You call that propaganda??? LOL And you are right ... McCain vetted his returns & then he chose Palin. If he has nothing to hide, he should make them public. No one is saying there's anything illegal ... but I'd be willing to bet there's something he wants to hide.

Item - was McCain's selection of Palin over Romney based SOLELY on tax returns? Or were there a dozen (or two) OTHER factors involved?

Item - It doesn't necessarily take something illegal to not want to divulge EVERYTHING. Some things might be embarrassing, some might be blown grossly out of proportion, some are simply persnal. Take Mitt's donations, for example. It is well known that his donations exceed Obama's both in dollar amount and as a percentage of income. But for him to allow the actual data into the public realm would appear to be boastful, would it not? For most Christians, tithing is personal and not something to brag about.

Item - Just because someone wants to keep something from public knowledge, does NOT mean that there is anything illicit or shameful about it. Most people are not ashamed of their sex lives, nor are they doing anything illegal, but they do not advertise it to their parents, do they?

Get a life!!

Running for president requires full disclosure so the voters can be well informed of who or what they are voting for or against. If you don't want your secrets known, don't run for president.

They guy has drooled for decades over the prospect of being POTUS. And you're telling me he didn't keep his taxe records in pristine order without something that might "embarass" him. Either he's a dolt or an arrogant fool who didn't think he would have to live up to the tradition started by his own father. But you're comparing his tax forms to sex? Interesting ... as are the contortions you are doing to make excuses for him.

Then where are Obama's records?
Where are his college writings?
How did he travel to Pakistan (when travel to Pakistan was illegal)?
Why does Obama feel the need to lie about his past? Like his mothers insurance, for instance.

Learn to read, bubby.
I did not imply that anything would embarrass him, though his charitable donations might shame others.
Were there any improprieties in his returns, the IRS would have brought it to Mitt's attention.

And there is no "tradition" to speak of
George may have released 23 years of returns, but Nixon released 4 years worth, Carter released 3 years, Clinton released 8 years, Obama released 9 years worth prior to the 2008 election. There doesn't seem to be much of a "tradition" there

This is the best attack they have on Romney?
Everyone after Obama was elected hoped he wouldn't destroy America and rack up debt. We hoped he wouldn't let Islamist dictators win. We hoped for jobs. We certainly didn't want him to keep blaming Bush. He was supposed to turn things around.
How difficult is it to accept that we hoped he didn't hate America as much as he did?
You, Romney, Ryan (3 stooges) are one uninformed Republican idiot-
