They SHOULD get higher benefits considering they may risk their lives so that morons like the above can sit comfortably at home and waste their lives spewing venom while contributing little or nothing of value to humanity..

Unfortunately, the contribution is to needless suffering and death.

And also unfortunately, that is nothing new. Mistranslated and misinterpreted religious texts and beliefs have been used throughout history to inflict pain, suffering, and death in attempts to control others.

Suffering and death are the extreme results of the irrational belief being gay is not acceptable, and we must either make the impossible change to heterosexual or live a life of chastity and denial of our humanity.

Not all Christian groups judge and condemn, and some accept gay people as we are without condition. But those who demonize and punish us are killing us. Many of us reach a point where we decide to fight back rather than kill ourselves, or accept punishment as a way of life. We have no choice but to challenge and oppose harmful and irrational prejudice no matter where is comes from, and whether it is mild or extreme.

Literature, decades of history and science, in addition to trial records of many different courts have all clearly demonstrated: Prejudice and discrimination cause needless suffering and death.

Zablocki v. Redhail, 434 U.S. 374, 384 (1978):“[T]he right to marry is of fundamental importance for all individuals.”

Turner v. Safley, 482 U.S. 78, 95 (1987):“[T]he decision to marry is a fundamental right” and an “expression[] of emotional support and public commitment.”

Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey, 505 U.S. 833, 851 (1992):“These matters, involving the most intimate and personal choices a person may make in a lifetime, choices central to personal dignity and autonomy, are central to the liberty protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.”

The equal right to determine one's own existence and the most intimate and personal choices a person may make in a lifetime, should never depend on popular opinion, any vote, anyone's interpretation of any religious text, the Pope, your neighbor, or the government.

Times have changed and we all need to grow up. If for a good reason same sex partners can prove their relation, they have served the United Staes and have suffwered and died to protect our way of life. I say give them the benefits they deserve.

As for being Transgender my husband (now functioning as a female) we have had zero problems with anything. Even with their passport, driver licece and US government ID's all say female(F). The only place that still has or indicates male (M) is DEERS

Actually, since I live near the largest US military installation in the nation, your wide brush does grave injustice to the hundreds of thousands of wives who have had to raise their children in nearly fatherless homes for to many years while their husbands performed their duty overseas.

Not all military brides are your cousins.
