The only way to get rid of WBC is to stop giving them free media attention, are they really worth talking about?

What I fear most is the brain less followers of WBC, and the clueless followers who sit in there pews. God truly must be on vacation.

I agree. I've been saying this for decades. The media should just completely ignore this hateful nuts and not give them the attention they so desperately crave. Blame the media ! They sustain these nuts with their constant coverage of them.

Unfortunately they're news ( bad news , that is ..) and the media has never cared very much for quality or worthiness .. Attention-getting has always been their main concern .

The Westboro Church folks know everybody ignores them, and the only way they can get any attention at all is to have thier hateful protests. Pathetic and laughable.

Sadly they are like a train wreck. You just can't drive by without slowing down and having a look.

They specialize in colorful protests which result in even more colorful counter-protests, in otherwise slow news markets, which then get picked up nationally and making pronouncements of showing up at events which already have more than enough national media attention. These folk know exactly what they are doing. They do things that they know won't be ignored.

This is true. I've seen them here in KC a few times. But I feel sorry for the very young ones they put out there not really knowing 'WHY'.

It's the first rule in indoctrination, what comes first, why after. Training a parrot is easier than grooming a true believer.

The Westboro Baptist klan is the best, most disgusting parody of evilgelical homophobes you could ever hope for.

They're not necessary, but they've inadvertently (?) very helpful to the glbt community.

How can an anti-gay hate group be doing God's work? They constantly separate people from God with their vitriolic rhetoric.

I agree. It's the medias fault for constantly giving the hateful nuts what they want. Which is only PUBLICITY.

I heard that the Westboro Baptist Church had asked a gay t-shirt company to print up a bunch of t-shirts that say GOD HATES FAGS on them and that the gay company refused. In light of the Colorado Baker going to prison for a year for refusing to bake a gay wedding cake I wonder if the WBC will sue the gay t-shirt company for discriminating against them? That sure would get them the publicity they so desperately desire.

Actually, there is another way to get rid of WBC. Unfortunately some of the fallout might make the gay house across the street unlivable for a few centuries.

How very true. Reminds me of a story I heard recently. A young Black man was worshiping in a black Baptist Church. He was caught up in the Holy Spirit and moved greatly. When he went sit in the pew, he felt a piece of paper under his pants. He pulled it out and upon it was written, "You are going straight to Hell." This nice young man was gay. He left the church never to return. Who's work did the bully do? Certainly not the Lord's.
