When Sir Elton John finally gets to meet Jesus, I don't think Jesus is going to be addressing him as "Sir".

I think Jesus would have supported the lgbt movement by its wrists and ankles.

Because the tacky tuxedos at same sex weddings...well, somebody has to die for _those_ sins.

(It occurs to me that perhaps my post is not the most sound in terms of mocking Christian beliefs. It is always important to be scrupulously accurate in parody, but I, like Rick Perry, just can't do it. Sorry. Oops.)

"Jesus would have been a supporter of gay marriage, Sir Elton John has claimed." Then why didn't Jesus say so. He said plenty about supporting male/female marriages.

Jesus said nothing about homosexuality.

The buybull says enough about divorce so that divorced christianists like you should take pause before spouting off on your sexually sick ignorance, you stupid, defaming, bigoted filth.

Exactly. He said nothing about two dudes or two gals marrying -- even though he talked very deliberately about the union of a man and a woman being marriage. God, who knew everything that was to happen, couldn't possibly have been in ignorance about the present day state of our society. There was plenty of time to chime in, "Oh, and it was be just hunky dory that a man wants to marry a man and a woman wants to marry a woman when society goes to hell in a hand basket in the 21st century."

You as a divorced christianist have little position to lecture anyone regarding marriage, but we know your sickness has no limits.

If homosexuality were important or stopping homosexual relationships were so vital then jaysus would have harped on it like our sexually conflicted mullahs of today have.

The problem for you bigoted filth is that jeesus did speak about what is important. That didn't include your rampaging sexual obsession with men.

Now go rail equally about those who disrespect their parents, a Commandment, hypocritical trash.

It is not impossible Jesus if he existed would have supported gay marriage. To me he was a wise man of the time like Confucius, radical for his time yes but not able to predict the future.

Bisexuality was common during his time but egalitarian homosexuality and homosexual relationships as we know them were rare in his time.

If faced with them today i think it is possible he would support or tolerate them.

I say this because even god for all his omnipotence supposedly put up with polygamy etc. Seemed there was a degree of practicality about it.

You are not reading the Bible very carefully. Yes, the Bible has people who married multiple wives, but in every case the men had bad things happen that the Bible is very clear were things they caused by their own behavior - i.e. fornication and adultery, having multiple wives. The Bible states things directly, but it also tells stories that serve as lessons for living for all men and women. Liberals choose to ignore that and also twist, twist, twist Biblical meaning for the convenience of themselves. I won't say homosexuals do that because there have been many self-avowed homosexuals who chose to follow God and left the homosexual behavior behind.

Well, that settles the issue then. Elton John has spoken.

I'm just sorry he waited so long to issue his proclamation. All the time and intellectual capital wasted on this could have been avoided.

What makes you think he didn't? Is every word he ever uttered written verbatim in the Bible?

Maybe it was such a non-issue in Jesus' time, and so obviously *not* a problem, that no one even thought twice about it. There certainly were (and are) for more pressing issues to discuss than the tiny percentage of people in the population that are gay, right?

MANY ancient cultures were so accepting of same-sex relationships that they were never mentioned as notable in any way. The fact that the few references in the Bible that mention same-sex relationships are supportive and note how strong and true the participants were should tell you a lot.(I won't, of course, but it should.....)

Oh, c'mon! You don't have to know very much about Jesus to know that he would have supported marriage equality! He believed in equality for EVERYONE. How many times did he say, "ALL my father's children...." and "ALL are welcome...." He was very clear about that. Over and over.

He did *NOT* say, "ALL my father's children* are welcome...."

* except the gays, brown people, poor people, immigrants, and LIB-ruhls.

There's no way to argue the issue--Jesus was a peace-loving, all-inclusive, no compromising, left-wing liberal. He NEVER would have advocated for some people to have more rights than others or for some people to be allowed to oppress others. That's simply not how he rolled.

I think you're being a tad simplistic, eJohn.

Be smarter than Sir Elton here-at least in your argument.
