The mean and spiteful will always be with us; they have, it's sad to realize, no other aim in life.. It's our duty (an easy one I must say) to treat their meanness as you would that of the mentally impaired, with patience and pity.. Personal unhappiness has a lot to do with their attitude.. In short, it's their problem, not ours..

Ah, now that you've seen the multitudes flocking to Chik-Fil-A in support of Mr. Cathy and his business, you say it is getting silly. I beg to differ. It wasn't silly at all today. I don't know the numbers yet, but I've heard and seen reports that Chik-fil-A's across the nation were swamped. The one I went to had a line of cars waiting out on the main road just to get onto the road where Chik-Fil-A is. It took two hours to get a meal, and much of what they normally offer was sold out. People were laughing and smiling, being very polite with one another. Nobody impatient. We were were making history, on the RIGHT side of history. And everybody I mentioned your "kiss-in" to made a face of disgust. I told you last year that picking on Chik-Fil-A was the wrong thing to do. It has hurt your cause tremendously because it made so many more people aware of the attack that gays are making on the right to have true Christian beliefs, not the watered down, liberal gay version of Christian beliefs. The "kiss-in" will be the icing on the cake. Judging by the reactions I saw, it is going to be like anti-public relations. But please, have at it. You'll only help Chik-Fil-A by doing it. I suspect a lot more people will swarm the place just to show support ... for Chik-Fil-A, not for gays.

I've never seen so much hate for such a stupid reason. Wow.

Yes, Judy, it is for real. They hate anyone who doesn't think the definition of marriage should be rewritten to accommodate them. The CEO of Chik-Fil-A believes in the defintion that has existed for all time - marriage is a man and a woman becoming one and committed to each other for life, forsaking all others. He's not all talk. He gives money to organizations that also believe in the traditional defintion of marriage. So they hate him, and they hate anyone who buys food at Chik-Fil-A because they are giving Mr. Cathy money that he can pass on to those who are working hard to preserve the defintion of marriage. Just for the record, I don't hate people who shop at Target or Gap or Old Navy or Starbucks or any of those organizations that give money to help the gays corrupt the definition of marriage. I have doubts about their intelligence, but I don't hate them. It is for real a stupid reason to hate someone.

You were absolutely right. This fight with Chik Fil A has been ridiculous from the start. It is no secret that this company has donated to anti-gay organizations in the past. The gay community has known it for years. It is why I do not buy their products, for the same reason that I do not shop at Wal Mart. The fact that this is the symbol of anything is annoying. However, this highlights the point of the gay marriage movement. If you do not want one, do not get one. But do not make that choice for someone else.

Gays hate people that systematically refer to them as perverts, diseased, pedophiles, immoral, and in general, less-than-human. A lot of Christians fit into this category, so it becomes an issue. Personally I am a Christian, but that does not mean I favor all Christians. The Westboro church disturbs me particularly. Besides. DelusionalYou wrote: What if we look at this from a different angle? People can be against dangerous activities without being bigots right? If I say that I am against cigarettes or alcohol does that make me a bigot against smokers and drinkers or perhaps a "closet smoker"? Man-on-man/boy sodomy is a dangerous activity. HIV rates amongst homosexuals is insanely large. Here is a quote from the CDC: "Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV. In 2009, MSM accounted for 61% of all new HIV infections" So man-on-man/boy sodomy is extremely dangerous. Chick-fil-a is basically saying that they do not support the rampant rise of HIV. Homosexuals have deadly sexual habits and there is nothing wrong with being against it. Then consider the thousands of boys who are molested by gay men each year. Many of these poor children are infected with HIV, go on to practice man-on-man sodomy and end up molesting boys too. The cycle never ends. Chick-fil-a should be commended for standing up against dangerous and bizarre sexual activities. Would they be catching so much grief if they had said that they are against beastilality or incest, close cousins of homosexuality? Do not confuse homosexuality with pedophilia. Chick Fil A has never directly or indirectly referred to HIV as a reason for their stance. Their issue is Biblical. Heterosexuals have deadly sexual habits as well, considering rates of underage pregnancy, STD rates concerning herpes, gonorrhea, and hepatitis. Not to mention all of the weird fetishes. Be careful about your blanket statements. Many people will catch you in lies and be a lot more rude than I am. Beastiality involves consent, incest involves genetics, and they are completely unrelated to the definition of homosexuality as termed by every major medical association in the country.

I do not hate gay people. I don't know any Christians who do. I just feel compelled to resist the changes that gays are attempting to make in society and politics. Marriage is a man and a woman, and it has always been a man and a woman. For the benefit of the fabric of society, I believe it should STAY a man and a woman. Judging by the turnout at Chik-Fil-A today, a lot of people feel that way. BTW, I don't consider the Westboro Baptist Church a real Christian church. I'll leave it to God to judge whether or not the individuals people are truly Christians.

I'll leave it to God to judge whether or not the individuals people are truly Christians. Have you been told directly that you are hated? Because I have. A christian got in my face and told me that I was going to hell. Religious marriage may be between a man and a woman. I respect that. I will allow you to reserve the right to believe that. But I believe my relationship, founded upon trust and committment, solidified in monogomy and a vow til death do we part, is no less a marriage because of the gender of my partner. And a secular government has no business differentiating the two when it is widely known that there is no psychological difference between the two. And the fabric of society? Gay marriage will not stop straight people from marrying. What on earth will deteriorate? I have never understood that. Gay people live together, recognized or not, and that will not change, so the fabric of society is what it is and will not alter based on public or legal recognition of our relationships.

DelusionalYou wrote: "Heterosexuals have deadly sexual habits as well, considering rates of underage pregnancy, STD rates concerning herpes, gonorrhea, and hepatitis. Not to mention all of the weird fetishes." Not nearly as deadly as man-on-man/boy sodomy. What is the difference between one virus that kills you and another? Absolutely nothing. You speak of actions between grown adults and children. That is not homosexuality. That is pedophilia, and it is detestable. "Beastiality involves consent" Chimps are able to communicate via sign language. They also share 95%+ of our DNA. If two men can marry than who has the right to say that a man and a consenting chimp cannot marry? Isn't that a bit hypocritical, even for a man-on-man/boy advocate? Recent reports indicate that there are more zoophiles in the USA than there are homosexuals, though the vast majority of homosexuals call both camps home. A chimp is not able to consent because a chimp does not have the intelligence of an adult. For the same reason, the age of consent for humans is typically the age where they are recognized as capable of the decision as an adult. And continuing that line of reasoning, why mentally deficient people are not capable of sexual consent unless deemed fit by the legal system. I have never known one gay or lesbian to be attracted to a species other than their own. "incest involves genetics" Homosexuality is just as bad, genetically speaking. My genes make me a man. My fiance's genes make her a woman. That is the perfect genetic match. Bob and Bill do not match. Then consider the fact that many homosexuals were "inducted" into this "lifestyle" through molestation by relatives. Incest and homosexuality go hand in hand. Your chromosomes make you a man. Your fiances chromosomes make her a woman. Unless of course, she has a condition where her cells cannot intake testosterone, which caused her testicles to remain in her abdomen and a vagina to form where the descent of the testes and the scrotum sac was supposed to form. So when puberty hit, the excess estrogen produced from the secondary sex glands caused her to form as a woman, despite her genetics making her male. You see, it is not as simple as man/woman, penis/vagina. Unless you do true research, you do not know the influence of a combination of genetics, hormones, and environment that causes people to be attracted to the same sex. And no, I do not think your fiance is genetically male. I do think, however, that you are uneducated in biology, and you are wading into waters unknown. And if all people who were sexually abused turn gay, then 40% of women and 15% of men would be. As it is, the steady statistic of approximately 3% to 10% of people refutes your statement.
