Truth-Hurts wrote: <quoted text>Thank you. I have my personal beliefs on the issue, but I also have an open mind to any facts that may persuade me to think differently. What I'm getting so far is...it's a "choice" of lifestyle, not something they are predisposed to? They are just "choosing" to be deviants and we as a society are expected to tolerate, accept, and allow said deviants around our children. Am I correct? I don't think anyone "chooses " to be gay. If the choice were that easy why did it take them so long to come out of the closet? Its the make up of our society to be prejudice towards things that are not politically correct, to pass judgement; and to place blame on those we don't understand. Murder, rape, incest, etc. Can be perpetrated by anyone...

Obviously some people do make a conscious choice but many homosexuals I have spoken with say they have known since they were very young that they preferred same sex. Often they will reveal that they had an early introduction to sex via a family member or friend. Most will tell you they wouldn't choose to be homosexual.

Ok, as a conservative, when called a racist, I am ridiculed by liberals if I say anything that resembles, "I have black a friend that...". However it is supposed to hold some special power when a liberal says, "I have gay friends"? Another blatant double standard.

If you put the "a" in front of the word "black", you will be able to understand what I meant. Ugggh!

Ok, so more than likely, they were introduced to the gay lifestyle via incest and or pedophilia. I'm to trust they won't continue the tradition with other's children?

The only blame I place on them is being morally corrupt and trying to corrupt others. Another posted stated that most gays are introduced to the lifestyle through incest or pedophilia. Dark places to derive such "pride" from.

Truth-Hurts wrote: So you're basically stating that they are social deviants and mentally ill? But yet it's OK to have them around our children in the boy scouts, our schools, etc.? It seems to be ok for Catholic priests to do so. Just because someone is homosexual does not mean that they are going to come on to everyone of the same sex that they run across. Use common sense!

As I stated, most will tell you that their feelings for same sex began early, not necessarily through sexual means. I wouldn't throw out the theory of early sexual contact of a homosexual nature resulting in continued practice either, especially if it was not unpleasant.

I want to hear from just one liberal their reasoning on how they feel their children are safe around gays. It's been stated that their lifestyle choice most likely comes from sexual abuse. How often is it documented that the abused eventually becomes the abuser?

No, they wouldn't make advances toward everyone, but defenseless children. Just like they were at one time when "introduced"...possi bly.

Once again...If I were to prance down the street in my underwear, tossing glitter and confetti, and waving a rainbow flag. Shouting "I deserve the right to teach your children and spend the night with your children." Do you think I'd be carried off in a straitjacket? Hell yeah I would. Even though I wouldn't be doing anything different from what the gays do in their little parades to gain acceptance and respect. Am I wrong?

GLBT individuals are certainly not anymore threatening or suspect than heteros. As others have noted, folks of any orientation, or no orientation, can be potentially "bad". My life is good in that I care, intially, for most people and have very many friends. Of all races and ethnicities. I've many G/L friends, most of which were origionally my bother's friends, but have become friends of my family. I know these people. I'm comfortable in knowing that my children are safe with them. I guess it is more the "stranger" aspect that is threatening. Any stranger. As an adult, character assessment is reasonably easy, but I feel that my children need be taught this skill. Not to condemn or ostracize, but in order to be safe. It is important that they develop a fair and even approach and acceptance of others without being unduly influenced at too early of an age.

I don't know if it is intentional, but without a doubt, it will undermine our civilization. This is a group of people who are tired of being treated as different, even though they are different. If they can convince the rest of the world that it is normal, then they can at least, feel somewhat normal about themselves. I would say that if you could get the truth out of them, they would say that something just doesn't feel right when engaging in their "activities". Of course we will never actually know the truth.

My other question also remains...Why do they want to partake in the boy scouts? Wouldn't the girl scouts be more up their alley?
