Sorry........18 year old seniors don't have sex with 14 year olds.

That's against the law.

I know that, I did read the linked document about the Florida "Romeo and Juliet" law.
What I can't understand is how the logic can hold that the Romeo and Juliet law basically says that teens in a consenting relationship aren't really subject to the sex crime laws, yet they can still charge the older one with a sex crime. It doesn't add up and the fact that these sorts of relationships are actually very common (ask the seniors in any high school!) and rarely prosecuted makes it all look like a witch hunt against a pair of lesbian teens.
What doesn't add up is why you condone statutory rape. Ah, but you get to play victim again since these two are lesbians... and you are a hypocrite. An 18 year old (adult) boy having sex with a 14 (not 15 as you dishonestly tried to claim) year old (minor child) girl lands the boy in jail for a long, long time... as it should.

I agree. I don't understand why so many people here are defending her.

Actually there's been some 18 year males who just did community service not prison time. Look it up.

I'm sure that's true. But there are 18 year old boys on the sex offender roles, too. Depends on state laws, the ages of those involves, how good their lawyer is and the judge that presides.

Why defend her? Because it's actually very common in high schools for senior boys (who are often 18 years old) to date freshman girls (who are often 15 years old) yet we don't find the courts clogged up with these sorts of cases being prosecuted. Then add in the fact there are "Romeo and Juliet" laws in place, including in Flordia where this particular case happened, that are supposed to treat these sorts of teen relationships realistically rather than treating them as child molestation cases where an adult predator is assaulting minors.

Personally I wish young people would wait until they were 21 before starting to have sex but we've got to be realistic about it.

That's because you need it to be a witch hunt.

For all you nuts that keep stating that it dose not happen to men. Now use some common sense. 14 is to young to be involved with a 18 year old. http://www.livinglakecountry.com/oconomowocfo...

The whole thing has NOTHING to do with her sexual orientation, and EVERYTHING to do with what is tantamount to statutory rape in many states. Look at the FACTS of the case and not the muddied and murky version that is being fed to you by the sensationalist media. Stop letting yourselves be filled by her family's and attorney's attempts to twist this into something it isn't in a pathetic effort save a young female sexual predator's ass!
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!
