Sweetie, you're not even sure if you had a point, so how could it have been lost on me?

I realize that those in the priesthood aren't cloistered sweetie, I never implied that they were. I imagine that just about everybody identified as having taken part in abuse had the opportunity to act out sexually with partners who not only were age appropriate and congruent to their adult sexual orientation, but consenting as well. They, largely because of other mental health issues and often fueled by alcohol and/or drugs, chose not to and acted out sexually by victimizing those most readily available and least likely to report it ...
Wasn't this YOUR point: Yes, they "chose not to"?

Despite all possible circumstances, it all comes down to a choice.

Yes dear, such behavior, whether it was driven by some sort of paraphilia or by other psychological issues, was a choice. You've become pointlessly fixated on the obvious.

If agreeing with you is pointless, what does that say about your own posts?

You're the one with the imagination in the first graph of post #121.

Really?

Everything I said there is backed up by the independent reviews done by John Jay. Would you care to try to prove ANY of what I said not to be true? Come on, I dare you.

Yes, really.

In your own words, you "imagined" that "everybody identified as having taken part in abuse had the opportunity to act out sexually with partners who not only were age appropriate and congruent to their adult sexual orientation," but instead they deliberately "chose" to have sex with male minors because these adult priests were gay.

Not quite. All the decisions says is that if a state chooses to recognize a same sex perversion as marriage, the federal government can't refuse to also recognize it.

Buttercup, you yourself said that those in the priesthood are not cloistered, which would mean that they would be around age appropriate and orientation congruent potential partners. Sorry dear, but the reviews done by John Jay found that even though the vast majority of the victims were male, the vast majority of perpetrators, heterosexuals with issues.

So why did they CHOSE not to have sex with them?

According to the Catholic News Service, a report by the bishopsÂ’ National Review Board on the causes of the RCC sex scandal revealed that the majority of young victims abused by the Catholic clergy were males, signifying that the abuse was characterized by homosexual behavior. The bishopsÂ’ report was based on the 2000 John Jay study on the Catholic clerical abuse of minors. The study determined that 81 percent of those abused by priests were male: that number increased to more than 90 percent in the 2010 John Jay study.

So, given the choice, 9 out of 10 RCC priests who sexually abused members of their own congregations chose to have sex with members of the same sex.

May I suggest that you actually read the John Jay report on the causes and context of the abuse and get back to me.

Then back-up why gay priests deliberately chose to have sex with male minors since, according to you, they had age appropriate men to choose from?

And that has exactly what to do with "Bishop responds to Boy Scouts' decision on admission of homosexual members," or do you intend to marry a Scout?

I gave you the report on the subject, you didn't bother to read it. Am I surprised? Not in the least. Ignorance isn't bliss, it's just ignorance. Hon, the report found that while 90% of the victims were male, the vast majority of the abusers were straight men with problems.

And what "problems" could possibly cause so-called straight men to act "gay"?

They aren't "acting gay", moron, they were acting out with those made readily available to them and who were least likely to tell. Why don't you read the report? Are you afraid that you might finally learn something that contradicts your preconceived idiocy?
