I am not a fan of outing, but if I had a son who told me this, I would demand that he tell his fiancee. Coming out is an intensely personal experience, but it is also a responsible one. They may still marry; there are mixed-orientation couples out there.

I disagree with the Rainbow Kid. While I have many friends who never had an opposite sex partner. I also many who have children and have been legally married. I personally had two opposite sex partners, one was more of a one off, the other a dating situation. Not everyone grows up in a world where gay is ok, and try their best to fit in to avoid ridicule. Claiming bisexuality often is part of the coming out process, but even as I dated women that were intellectually satisfying, my physiology was on another page. While kissing girls and even the sex can be fun, it's guys that turn my head. I think that this same belief in reverse is why many think that homosexuality can be overcome, is because they in fact experimented but in the end our true nature wins out.

Divorced women with children often decide in advanced middle age, gravity having destroyed their allure, that they are just another manic lesbian.

These women go out with a whimper so to speak, not with a bang.

Mom needs to contact her local PFLAG group. They can offer some guidance for her and for her son. Coming out is difficult still today on so many levels. Good for you for supporting him in this struggle. That is more helpful than you can imagine. Speaking from experience, he will be MUCH happier when he lives his life truthfully.

So let me get this right, its the chuch's fault this guy thinks being gay is wrong.

Give me a break. This is like when a gay kids kills themselves and the parents are up in arms yet they never once told their kid it'd be ok with them if he or she is gay.
